Himachal Pradesh University to Hold Undergraduate Final-Year Exams from 17 August


On 5 August, Himachal Pradesh University announced that it will hold the final-year examinations for undergraduate students from 17 August.

The examination will be held at 134 centres across Himachal Pradesh. The examinations were delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The controller of examinations at HP University, JS Negi, said that the examinations for BA, B.Sc and B.Com students would be held carefully, with Standard Operating Procedures issued by the Union Home Affairs Ministry being strictly observed. 37,000 students across the three streams are expected to take the examinations.

JS Negi added that the students will be given the option of taking the examination from close to their homes. However, this has to be confirmed by concerned colleges. Only after their assurance can students take the examination from a centre of their choice.

He further said, “All the principals of the colleges have been directed by the Higher Education Department and the University to conduct these examinations carefully and cautiously in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
