HPU to Conduct UG, PG Exams For Final Year Students; Bans Entry of Outsiders in Campus


Himachal Pradesh University has announced that it will be conducting Undergraduate and Postgraduate examinations for the outgoing batch.

The decision has been taken by HPU after adopting the guidelines issued by the state government.

Earlier, HPU Exams of final year students were delayed additionally in light of the COVID Situation.

The varsity clarified it through a statement issued on Saturday that it will conduct the written test of the passing batch. Exams will be conducted as per the instructions of the MHRD, UGC and the State Government.

Furthermore, the varsity also clarified that no decision has been taken yet to promote or for the conduct of exams of first and second-year students.

Entry Only on Showing Identification Card

The varsity has also decided to ban outsiders in the campus after four Corona positive cases surfaced simultaneously in Baluganj, Shimla. 

As per the chancellor, this move will come into effect from today, Police and university security personnel will be tightly guarded at the main gate leading to the HPU campus since morning. 

Moreover, the identity card of every university employee will be seen at the gate and will be allowed inside only after thermal screening.

In regard to this, the varsity administration has made public the telephone numbers of the concerned officials and branches for inquiries about other government functions.

The chancellor of the varsity has said that this move will cause some trouble to people coming from outside for various tasks. But, it was necessary to take this step to protect the employees of the varsity.
