IGNOU Launches One Year PG Diploma programme in Animal Welfare, Check Details Here


Indira Gandhi National Open University’s School of Extension and Development Studies has launched a new Postgraduate Diploma programme in Animal Welfare. 

The programme which is meant for animal welfare professionals across the country was launched from the July 2020 session for the UG and PG students who are aspiring to pursue a career as an animal welfare professional. 

The key objective of IGNOUs new programme is to provide science-based animal welfare education in the open and distance learning mode and to build capacities of stakeholders in making socially responsible decisions with respect to animal welfare.

IGNOU PGDAW Programme Important Highlights

The PGDAW programme by IGNOU is offered for a duration of one year which can be pursued by any person who has a graduate degree in any field.

This programme is multidisciplinary in nature which evolves rapidly with the core components of welfare science, ethics, laws and standards

As per the official notification by the varsity, the programme will cover the above-mentioned criteria of all managed animals like cattle and buffaloes, sheep and goat, pugs, poultry working and performing pets, zoo and laboratory animals. 

The programme will have 32 credits with 4 courses and 8 credits each. Students interested in the programme can apply by visiting the official website of the varsity.
