IIM Trichy Introduces new PGPM HR program; Inaugurates PGPM Batch 2020-22 in Online Mode


IIM Trichy has recently inaugurated the first batch of its newly launched PGPM-HR and the tenth batch of PGPM programme along with the eighth FPM batch in an online ceremony held on 12th August 2020. 

The new batch was welcomed at the inauguration ceremony by the Chief Guests, Director of IIM Trichy, Chairpersons of PGPM and FPM, among other distinguished faculty members.

15 Students Received Director’s Merit Scholarships

During the ceremony, names of 15 PGPM 2019-21 batch winner students who won the Director’s Merit Scholarships for best academic performance in the first year were announced. The list of the students whose names were announced has been mentioned in the table below.

Following the announcement, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Trichy delivered the welcome note to the chief guests, alumni, students, and every stakeholder of the institution.

He also acknowledged and stressed the importance of New Education Policy 2020, and said that people and the planet are going to be the focus of attention in the management and higher education space.

Launch of New PGPM-HR Programme 

IIM Trichy has introduced a new full time residential 2 years MBA programme this year – PGPM-HR. On the launch of the programme, Dr. Metri said that PGPM-HR is more relevant now and taking into account, this programme has been launched by the institute.

During the ceremony, the Chief Guest Ms. Gautami Tadimalla, highlighted the critical element of Human Resource Management in all professions and the need to treat every human as a special individual.

‘Innovation leads to evolution which leads to greater achievements,’ quoted Ms. Gautami while highlighting the importance of innovation in present times.

While, Chief Guest Mr Pushp Joshi encouraged the students to give 100% of their time for academics, experiential learning, and for working on themselves during these 2 years of their lives.

Finally Selected Candidate had to pay Rs. 2 Lakhs as Offer Acceptance Fee 

IIM Trichy issued certain guidelines for candidates who were selected for the programme. The guidelines have been mentioned below.

  • Candidates who were offered admission had to pay an amount of Rs.2,00,000/- as Offer Acceptance Fee within the due date mentioned in the offer letter
  • Candidates had to pay their remaining course fee within the due date and they should also submit their “Online Application Form” in time
  • Candidate has to click the ‘offered’ status on the dashboard to pay the course fee by clicking the Course fee payment button

Waitlist Candidates to Pay Rs.20 Thousand to remain Active in Waitlist

IIM Trichy also issued certain guidelines for candidates who were waitlisted for the programme. The guidelines have been mentioned below.

  • Waitlisted Candidates had to pay an amount of Rs.20,000/- as Waitlist Acceptance Fee within the due date to remain in the Active Waitlist
  • Only those who had paid Rs.20,000/- as Waitlist Acceptance Fee, were considered in the Active Waitlist
  • The second list was generated from the active waitlist and was published subsequently
  • Once the second list was published, the offered candidates had to pay their course fee and also should submit their “Online Application Form” within the due date as mentioned in the offer letter
  • Waitlist candidates (Second list onwards) could view their ‘Rank’ and ‘Offer made up to’ (Overall as well as Category wise) on their dashboard
  • Online payment modes and service charges are clearly given in the offer/waitlist letter.
