Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Trichy inaugurated the ninth batch of Postgraduate Program in Business Management (PGPBM) on Saturday, September 19, 2020.
This auspicious occasion at IIM Trichy was graced by the virtual presence of Shri Ganesh Mani S, Director (Production), Hyundai Motor India Ltd. The ceremony was conducted in an online mode given the current COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Dr Deepak Srivastava, Dean (Academics) raised the curtains by lighting the lamps while Professor Karthik Dhandapani, Chairperson, PGPBM, shared an overview of the PGPBM program.

Ms Lakshmi Priya, an alumnus of PGPBM 2014-17 Batch, IIM Trichy, who is now serving as the Manager of Rane Madras Ltd, enlightened the students with her thoughts on focusing on essentials and leveraging career growth.
She congratulated the students for making it to IIM Trichy and being fortunate enough to be a part of an excellent pedagogy, rigour and a dedicated faculty.

This year, IIM Trichy has created a benchmark with a batch strength of 50 having average work experience of 8.5 years.
Following this, Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Trichy also appreciated the candidates and congratulated them on their achievement of joining the institute. By now, Chief Guest Shri Ganesh Mani S also addressed the students discussing challenges inflicted by COVID-19.
However, an MBA is that sole degree that will enhance the sensibility of students and empower them with solutions to every challenge. According to him, it will create a broader perspective of the business and economic environment.
He said, “The MBA gives a wider view of the business and economic environment. In addition to teaching what is to be done, it also teaches what path should be avoided.”

Meanwhile, the current situation will be additional coursework to exercise their theoretical knowledge and implement them in real-time. He shared, participants, will turn growth drivers for the Indian economy to reach new heights.
The Chairperson of PGPBM program announced the Term Wise Merit Awards winners for showcasing excellence in academic performance in different batches of the program.

Merit awards were presented to Arasuprakash S and Mahesh Sundar N, Term V of PGPBM 2018-20. From, PGPBM 2019-21 Batch awards were given to Ram Selvan V of Term I, Godse Rujul Mohan, K Srividya & Vatsavi S of Term II and N Nanda Kishore of Term III.
IIM Trichy also identified the top 5% of the students in the PGPBM batch of 2018-20 for their academic performance in the first year. The awards were presented to Kamalaganesh T, Arasuprakash S and Balagee Ramiah, Tusar Kanti Giri, Mahesh Sundar N, Nibedita Shome and Rajesh R.
S Sundarakamatchi, Rajarajan V V and Neha Viya Arora have presented Best Industry Project awards. The event saw its end with a vote of thanks by Mr Mahesh Sundar, PGPBM Student, the batch of 2018-20.
