IIT Delhi Incubated Startups develops Anti-viral T-shirts and COVID-19 protection lotion


IIT-Delhi incubated Startups, E-Tex and Clensta launched an anti-viral kit, which has anti-viral T-shirts and a Covid-19 Protection Lotion. 

On Friday, October 2, 2020, The Director at IIT-Delhi, V Ramgopal Rao unveiled the Antiviral Products Kit. 

The Antiviral Kit comprises an E-Tex Antiviral T-shirts, and Mask along with a novel Clensta protective lotion and a hand sanitizer, which are available at reasonable prices.

As per the officials, the startup E-Tex has designed the antiviral T-shirts by using advanced technology, which will destroy the contacted microorganisms and reduce the transmission. 

These antiviral t-shirts are likely to remain effective even after 30 washes. 

These antiviral products have been backed up by the experts from the chemical and textile department of IIT-Delhi.

Bipin Kumar from the Department of Textile and Fibre Engineering, IIT Delhi stated that the pandemic COVID-19 has pushed for the demand for these microbial products. 

However introducing such cost-effective, antiviral, and antimicrobial products, formulated with Prolonged Antiviral Technology (PAP), is expected to deactivate the threat of virus and will boost the local economy of textile sectors.

He assured that the Covid-19 Protection Lotion/Hand Sanitiser introduced by the Startup Clensta will provide up to 99.9% protection. 

The lotion can be applied to any part of the body including face and hands. It will be effective for up to 24hours, for its antiviral and antiseptic properties, he said. 

The Union Health Ministry on Friday gave a detailed report on India's Covid-19 caseloads. 

India's coronavirus tally has crossed the 60 lakh mark after 82,170 cases were reported and 1,069 deaths in the last 24 hours.
