IIT Guwahati: PM Urges to set up Centre for Disaster Management

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed IIT Guwahati digitally on September 22 regarding the NEP and its blend with technology pointing towards the need for starting a centre for disaster management.

The Prime Minister during his conference spoke about the New Education Policy which includes greater importance of technology in education. For the convocation, he gave a speech through a video conference and stated that youth is an integral part of a nation’s development.

He positively said “Your dreams are going to shape the reality of India.” He praised the efforts in conducting the online classes and carrying the research work smoothly.

NEP has broken the shackles of the rote learning education system and given the flexibility and freedom to students to explore new opportunities. It promises to provide field exposure that will boost a child’s skill.

He added that NEP is a tool to connect technology with education: students will also read about technology, and will also read through technology.
