JAB to Conduct JEE Main in More Regional Languages from 2021, Says Education Minister


Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Education Minister announced that the JEE Mains exam will be conducted in more regional languages in the coming years. 

The Education Minister took to Twitter to officially announce this decision on October 22 specially emphasizing the use of regional language in competitive exams, like JEE Main. The exam conducting JAB (Joint Admission Board) will execute the decision from next year.

The decision also came into the light as the NEP 2020 also insists on the application of regional language in school education. The Minister also stated that the topmost countries in the world in the PISA exam value regional language. 

The members of the PISA exam use the mother tongue as a medium of instruction and examination. This highlights the importance of mother tongue in exams and better results.

Through the use of regional language, students and the candidates appearing for various exams will be able to understand the question better. It will help them to break the questions in simpler terms and hence score higher. 

The Education Minister is always active in framing new policies and being decisive regarding the country’s future in terms of education. He has initiated various plans and has devised various measures to execute the objectives of NEP 2020.

Also, PM Modi has addressed many times to Universities regarding the foundation of India’s future in compliance with NEP. 

In a conference meeting addressing IIT Guwahati, Narendra Modi focussed on the objectives of NEP and stated that the youth is the reality of India’s future. He laid emphasis on practical exposure and technology as a tool towards victory. Read more about the news here.
