JEE Main 2021: NTA makes Category Certificates mandatory for application; Check Details Here


The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that all JEE Main 2021 aspirants would be required to provide their respective category certificate for General/EWS/ SC/ ST/ OBC(NCL)/PwD while submitting the application form for the exam. 

Candidates can visit the official website of JEE Main 2021 and navigate to the FAQ section in order to know more. In case a candidate fails to provide the category certificate because of COVID-19, they will be required to give an undertaking with a self declaration of their category to finish the registration process. The form can be accessed at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Previously, candidates could select their respective category while filling out the JEE Main 2021 application form, without having to provide the category certificate.   

NTA had released the application form for JEE Main 2021 on the website on December 16. Candidates can apply for the exam by January 16 and submit the fee online by January 17, 2021. 

JEE Main 2021 for the first time will be conducted four times, i.e, in February, March, April and May. This year the exam will be conducted in thirteen regional languages in order to avoid language barriers. 

Out of the 90 questions asked, 75 will be from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Negative marking will be applicable only on MCQ type questions.
