JEE Main 2021: Ramesh Pokhriyal Says Exam to be Conducted in Regional Languages; Check Details Here


In a recent announcement, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, The Education Minister of India has declared that the JEE Main 2021 exam will be held in regional languages. He expressed that this decision was taken so that no student would be at a disadvantage due to a language barrier. 

The minister called the enactment of regional languages in national exams such as JEE Main 2021, a long-awaited reform.

He also said that a task force to teach technical engineering in regional languages has been formed as well. Many institutes at the national level such as IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur have already taken steps to enact the use of regional language in teaching the new students.

The question paper of JEE Main 2021 will now be available in 13 languages. Exams in Urdu, English, and Hindi will be held across the nation, while exams for other regional languages will be limited to the state. Previously JEE Main was only conducted in Hindi, English, and Gujarati. 

The new languages include Assamese, Bengali, and many others. The option for JEE Main 2021 language should be executed when filling the online application form. It will not be allowed to change it at a later stage, so students should take extra care in this regard.

Ramesh Pokhriyal commented, “I think the overall quality will improve because when students understand concepts in their mother tongue, they can think better,” 

Registration for the upcoming JEE Main 2021 has started from December 15, 2020, and will conclude on January 15, 2021. The exam will be held four times in February, March. April and May 2021.
