JEE Main 2021: Expert Opinions on NTA’ New Rule

JEE Main 2021 Phase-I has been scheduled to be conducted from February 23 to 26, 2021. Moreover, as per the National Test Agency, NTA’s new rules, Joint Entrance Examination 2021 will be conducted in four sessions. However, an applicant doesn’t have to attempt all 4 rounds.

NTA claims that if a candidate appears in more than one session of JEE Main 2021, then his/her best scores will be considered for preparation of merit rank and further admission procedure.

However, experts have a different opinion on NTA’s new rule for JEE Main 2021. Some believe that with an increase in exam options, a student will get chances to improve his/her rank.

Besides, some feel with increased options, the competition among students will increase, and thus it will put more pressure on students.

Students are preferring to appear for later sessions that are scheduled to be conducted in March - April 2021, barring the toppers. Middle-segment students will be under a lot of pressure to ensure improvement in ranks, they will consider appearing for multiple JEE Main 2021 sessions.

Moreover, some experts believe that an increase in the number of sessions will only benefit students while some believe, with this rule, seriousness among students for JEE Main examination will be reduced.

Earlier, a student had only one opportunity to excel as there was only one attempt. Now, many students may not give their best at once as they will be casual that there are other JEE Main 2021 sessions they can appear for.
