Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank interacted with the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya through a live webinar on January 19, 2021, at the launch event of KV Andrews Ganj. The Minister even clarified several doubts that were clouding among students regarding CBSE, JEE and NEET 2021 syllabus.
During Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal’s webinar with KV students, he was asked various questions, among this one was about the questions to be asked in upcoming board exams on the basis of the revised syllabus.
To this, the Minister answered that the students need to study the revised syllabus for their CBSE Board exams. For other competitive exams Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2021 and National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET 2021), questions will be prepared based upon the full syllabus of CBSE Class 12 Exams that includes reduced portions.
He further informed that question papers of NEET and JEE Main 2021 syllabus will include all their curtailed portions as well. However, students preparing for only reduced syllabus may not worry. as there will be ample numbers of internal choices and students will be able to qualify to study the reduced syllabus.
Thus, JEE Main and NEET 2021 syllabus will remain unchanged. However, unlike in past years, this year, students will have a number of options internally within questions. JEE Main 2021 first session is scheduled to be held from February 23-26 and interested students can apply till January 23.
Note: NTA is yet to release the exact NEET-UG 2021 Exam Pattern. The question paper will have several internal choices for the convenience of students in line with JEE Main.
During the live interaction, the Education Minister informed that Kendriya Vidyalayas will reopen in a phased manner soon. The offline classes would be resumed in the schools along with the online classes across the country.
The Education Minister also said students to reduce their fears about travelling to exam centres for Board Exams 2021 amid the pandemic. “NEET, JEE exams in 2020 was conducted amid the pandemic and all the competitive exams were conducted successfully across the country by the government,” he further said.
During the event, the education minister lauded the teachers and the students to face the COVID-19 crisis with grit and determination and converted "challenges into opportunities.”
