Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal is conducting a live session today, December 10, 2020, at 10 AM to interact with students and discuss forthcoming board and entrance exams. The Union Minister has begun the live session at 10 AM through his Twitter and Facebook pages.

10:57 AM: ‘Will consider conducting NEET 2021 exams online’

Responding to students’ query, the minister said the ministry reconsider conducting JEE 2021 and NEET in online mode. Earlier, JEE 2020 was conducted in CBT mode while NEET 2020 in pen-paper mode. He said, "We have taken decisions based on the situation in the past and in case the situation does not improve in the near future, we will allow more time for students for their competitive exams."

10:47 AM: ‘Attempts will be made to keep JEE, NEET questions in line with CBSE’s reduced syllabus’

JEE and NEET questions for 2021 will be in line with the reduced CBSE’s reduced syllabus for 2021. Discussions on this matter are underway and if required, syllabus and exam pattern might be changed to provide better testing opportunities to students. 

10:41 AM: ‘CBSE Board Exam 2021 dates to be announced much before the commencement of exam’

CBSE Board Exams 2021 Class 12 date sheet will be revealed much before the exams commence. The board has no plans to delay CBSE Board Exam 2021 for Classes 10 and 12. The Education Minister said this will be done considering fact that students get enough time to prepare well for their exams. There was no clear direction on whether the exams will be postponed or not.

CBSE Board Exam 2021 revised syllabus has been updated on CBSE’s official website: cbse.nic.in.

10:35 AM: ‘CBSE practical exam to be held in school level’ 

The Education Minister said, “CBSE practical exam will be held on the school level. If we are not able to conduct practicals due to the ongoing Pandemic, attempts will be made to find alternatives.”

10:29 AM: “New Education Policy 2020 is receiving appreciations from all over the world”

National Education Policy 2020 that was issued during COVID-19 Pandemic has been at the receiving end of appreciation from around the world. He added, “I have faith the new education policy will bring a lot of opportunities for you all. Cambridge University also appreciated the NEP and congratulated PM Modi for this policy.”

10:21 AM: ‘Performance of students in CBSE Boards 2020 incredible’

Pokhriyal says, “It is worth mentioning that even in the time of the pandemic, 91% of the class 10th students passed the CBSE 10th Board exam this year. A total of 16 lakh students of 17 lakh 50,000 students appeared in the exam and 13 students scored 499 out of 500. A total of 10 lakh 50,000 out of 12 lakh students passed the CBSE 12th exams. It is incredible.”

9:20 AM: Education Minister to hold Live Session to discuss competitive and board exams soon

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will hold a live session on the upcoming entrance and board exams today from 10 AM onwards through his Twitter Handle and Facebook Page.

Earlier, Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal announced a live session for December 3, 2020, from 2 PM onwards to discuss CBSE, ICSE and other board exams and entrance exams as of JEE Main 2021. Later, he postponed the webinar to December 10, 2020. 

He will be discussing entrance exams, national and state board exams to be conducted amid a pandemic. Interested students can join the live session at the minister’s Twitter handle @DrRPNishank and on his official Facebook page, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. Students have to use the hashtag EducationMinisterGoesLive to interact with the minister.
