Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak witnesses 178 International Applicants for its UG and PG Courses


Around 178 foreign students across 22 nations have applied for various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. 

The Maharshi Dayanand University (MDURTK) officials have stated that candidates from vivid parts of the world have applied to the University including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, China, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Iraq, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Palestine, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.

The applicants applied to the courses through various modes. Out of 178 potential applicants, 147 applications came via the Study In India program of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), 10 were received through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), and the remaining 21 students applied for the Varsity via the university official portal directly.

The University conducted its orientation program on September 30. The MDU found that 113 applicants out of the total 157 applicants who applied via modes other than the University direct portal were eligible for the courses they aspired for.

The international applicants have sought admission in various course domains such as bioinformatics, management, commerce, computer sciences and applications, education, food technology, hotel and tourism management, journalism, and communication among many others. 

Established in 1976, Maharshi Dayanand University is one of the major Universities not only in Haryana but all over India. It aims at promoting quality higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological, and life sciences.

In the latest rankings of NIRF 2020, Maharshi Dayanand University has been ranked 76th in the University category. It offers courses at various levels including UG, PG, and doctoral programs. MDU has also earned an international reputation over the years.
