On October 1, 2020, The University of Mumbai began the final year examinations which are to be held between October 1 to October 31, 2020. The examination will be held online due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the states.
The University of Mumbai (MU) announced the commencement of the online examination in some affiliated colleges. Helpline numbers will be provided to the students to prevent technical issues during the commencement of the online examinations.
The statement released by MU on October 1, read, “Since all colleges have been divided under different clusters, these clusters have been given the choice of conducting exams as per their schedule.”
The statement further stated that the examination will be conducted between October 1 and 31 through online in multiple-choice question (MCQ) format. The Mumbai University statement further read, “Today MU vice-chancellor Suhas Pednekar had a virtual discussion with thousands of students to find out the problems they are facing”.
He added that various helpline numbers are available and students have been assured that they will not face any problems during the online exams. Many city Colleges of Mumbai have already decided to start their final year examination of 2020 from October 5, 2020.
The universities and colleges of Jalgaon, Aurangabad, and Amravati also announced the commencement of the examination from October 1 for final year students. The Nanded colleges and universities have also released a similar statement announcing that the final year exams have been scheduled for October.
The new examination dates and schedule are yet to be finalized by the exam authority, stated the spokesperson.
Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has postponed the examinations due to the ongoing strike of non-teaching staff demanding the immediate implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission wages.
