Mumbai University Final Year Law Examination: Students Raised Concern Over Difficulty Level

Mumbai University’s BA LLB final-year students have raised concerns on the difficulty level of their end semester question paper.

Many students professed that exam questions were unfair. More than 50% of MCQ questions were in direct line with readily available online Judicial Services exam sample paper.

Compared to sample sets or ATKT provided earlier by Mumbai University, the actual question paper comprises more situational questions in the Evidence Act paper.

Students taking the re-exam due to technical glitches were also asked about the same difficulty level of questions from sample papers.

A student stated that the difficulty level of questions asked was quite tough. “Questions asked in judiciary services' exams, cannot be in line with questions asked for law students.

The difficulty level of the paper was very high and not meant for law students," he said.

He further stated about re-exam "The exam had questions which were again from sample sets of judicial services and other online resources."

Though students cannot access other browsing sites or receive notifications on the concerned device, students can easily use other devices to answer questions due to the weak invigilation process.

Questions were also straightforwardly copied from readily available online sets, allowing many students to indulge in unfair means.

Naina Sharma, a law student stated "Aspirants are tested in these two acts in civil services and judicial services exams as well and therefore a lot of MCQs are available on them.

But the level of testing is different for these exams as they are competitive in nature and undergraduate law programs cannot be at par."
