Mumbai University: Only Two Students Attend Offline Final Year Exams; Check Details Here

Only two students from the 2019-20 batch of Mumbai University have attended the offline final-year examination.

The MU authorities said that both the students were senior-citizens and belonged to the law faculty who have taken up the offline final-year exams.

While in other universities, only 15-65% of students have taken up the offline final-year exams and the highest was from Aurangabad.

Uday Samant, the higher and technical education minister, on Friday, presented the data which showed that most of the universities across the state have recorded a success rate of 90% in the final year exams.

Although the graduating 2019-20 batch of MU had 2.5 lakhs students, the presented data didn't include the number of students who didn't take up the exam, said an MU official.

Also, the university will conduct the exams for the students who failed in their online exams within a month of the declaration of results, they need not wait for 6 months to reattempt it and this will only be beneficial to this batch, clarified an MU official.

In the view of pandemic COVID-19, UGC ordered the varsities to conduct online exams to the final year students before conferring them the degree.

Due to the lack of resources, students hailing from rural areas had to take up the MCQs examination physically.
