Firstly, the circular has advised the teaching faculties of these colleges to classify every subject under four methods of teaching.

These include virtual lectures, digital study material that is available for download and print-out, an online forum where students can clarify concepts and doubts if any, and lastly self-assessment tests.

It is also mentioned in the circular that necessary academic resources such as lectures, assignments etc should be provided to students who do not have access to online lectures.

In such cases, the lectures and study material should be uploaded on YouTube, Facebook, Email, WhatsApp, and anywhere the students can conveniently access it.

It is also advised that the teachers maintain proper communication with students and parents in order to discuss the syllabus, and feedback if any.

The Bombay University and College teachers have however expressed their disappointment in the guidelines. They pointed out that it overlooks the fact that several students in rural areas and financially challenged backgrounds may not have access to the internet or other digital means of communication at all. Some are even facing a shortage of electricity.
