Mumbai University yet to clarify queries related to Final Semester Exams 2020; check details here


Recently, many teachers from the BMM and BMS faculties have expressed their concerns is the form of complaints to the University of Mumbai since the University has still not clarified a number of issues faced by students. 

According to recent updates, the Mumbai University had issued guidelines regarding how the end-semester examinations will be conducted. This was followed by a wave of confusion among faculties and students regarding the lack of clarity. 

The faculties of Bachelors in Mass Media (BMM), as well as Bachelors in Management Studies (BMS), were perplexed regarding factors such as the exam pattern, question bank availability etc.

The guidelines previously released by the Varsity include the marks-breakdown of undergraduate and postgraduate examinations of arts, science and commerce programs. The exam will carry a total of 60 marks. This includes 50 Multiple Choice Questions. Out of these, students will have to attempt any 40 questions, each worth 1.5 marks. 

As for other professional courses, the exam will carry a total of 80 marks with 40 marks assigned to Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and descriptive-type questions each. 

Prior to this, the university had also released instructions about the use of online software with regard to the final year exams. MU said that digital supervision and remote proctoring will be deployed to regulate the examinations. This can by done either through a camera or any other means. 

These measures will be followed across the 750 colleges and institutes affiliated to MU. This year about 2.5 lakh students will be appearing for the examinations. 

In order to ensure that all students can conveniently appear for the examinations, MU has also informed that the software will be available across all platforms including laptops, PCs and mobile phones, making it more accessible.
