NIFT Admission 2020: B.Des Selection Criteria Revised, Situation Test Dropped


National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has issued an official notification with regards to the cancellation of the Situation Test for Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) admissions. 

The official notification states that the NIFT situation test has been cancelled because of uncertainty observed in view of COVID-19 pandemic. 

The institute has released a set of fresh new guidelines of NIFT Admissions 2020 for the B.Des course. 

As the situation tests are dropped, the students will be selected based on the marks obtained in NIFT Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). The final merit list will be prepared based on the NIFT final results of selected students that will include their CAT and GAT scores. 

Written tests for NIFT 2020 CAT and GAT were held on 19 January 2020 whereas the results were out by 13 March 2020.

As per this recent notification, these results stand considered for final admissions into Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) and Bachelor of Design courses.

The official notification further clarified that final result as well as the merit list of Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program. Final results and final merit lists for admissions to B.Des course will be released through its official website on 25 June 2020.

Additionally, all the required selection and counselling criteria for BFT (Apparel Selection) will be notified on the official website.

Also, group discussions have been cancelled for admissions into Master of Fashion Management, Master of Design and Master of Fashion Technology. Instead, online interviews will be conducted on June 26, 2020. 

For this, candidates have to register for attending online interviews between 19 June- 21 June 2020.
