No Change in Question Pattern for Calcutta University Final-Year Exams


Calcutta University officials have announced that the question pattern for the final-year BA and B.Sc examinations will remain similar, even though the modalities will go through drastic changes due to the pandemic. The question papers for BA and B.Sc have already been set, while that of B.Com has not yet been framed,

An official of Calcutta University said that the question papers for the BA and B.Sc examinations are prepared as the examinations were originally expected to be held in April. The official said that students from the Arts and Science departments need not worry about changes in the question pattern.

As for the B.Com examination, the UG Board of Studies and the Commerce Faculty Council will determine the type of questions and question paper format.

The university has allowed its affiliated colleges to upload question papers on their respective websites between 1 and 18 October. The timetable for the undergraduate as well as postgraduate examinations will be released by the university. According to one teacher, students will be primarily tested on their concept of the subjects, knowledge and understanding of the topics.

Question papers will be sent to the college principals digitally one hour before the start of the examination. The principals will send the question papers to the concerned heads of the departments, who will then send it to students online. Students will be given one day to send their answer scripts online.

The university had allowed colleges to upload questions on their portals at the time of the examination, to ensure that the maximum number of students can access them.

Candidates without access to the Internet can authorize their parents to submit their answer scripts in person by providing them with an authorization letter.
