The affiliation will be granted on the grounds of academic information provided by these colleges to the university. The standing committee of Osmania University took this decision to grant affiliation without inspection in acknowledgment of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Currently, the university has a total of 735 affiliated private colleges, including degree, law, engineering, pharmacy, MBA, MCA, and HM.

Inspection of several private colleges is done every three years, and the inspection is not due this academic year. At the end of the inspection, the affiliation is granted to the selected courses.

The various areas that the inspection is based on include infrastructure, faculty, laboratories, academic facilities, library, and several others. The inspection is carried out by the inspection team consisting of university officials, subject experts, and the dean.

The concerned university authorities took this decision keeping in mind that physical inspection in the current pandemic scenario is not a viable option and can be hazardous to health.

The University is also considering the possibility of reducing the syllabus for several courses due to delayed admissions for the current academic session. If implemented this will only be applicable to new students and not for existing students.
