Patna University: Authorities Decide to Impart Online Education Till Month End

Although Patna University (PU) has completed the study courses of nearly all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs, it will continue to provide its students with online education by the end of July 2020.

A decision was taken in this regard at a meeting on Monday between college directors and PG department heads held under the chairmanship of PU vice-chancellor H N Prasad.

They discussed the recent circular on online classes received from the secretariat of the chancellor.

The Principals noted, "While the students of the Degree Part III have already written their exams, the students of Part I and Part II have been sent for university examinations.

They are anxiously waiting to have their examination schedules announced.

The PG heads said, "Semester II and IV courses were almost completed because, during the lockdown period, teachers from different departments organized online classes and uploaded study materials to the university's website. Whatever little remains to be done is covered by July 31, 2020.

The Heads and Principals also discussed the feasibility of promoting students of Part I and Part II at the UG stage, and students of Semester II at the PG level without taking examinations.

However, they decided to wait for the Chancellor's review committee's decision which is scheduled to meet Wednesday at the Raj Bhavan.
