Schaeffler India Ties with TISS to Implement NUSSD Programme 


Schaeffler India in collaboration with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is going to implement National University Students' Skill Development (NUSSD) programme. The programme aims to train a total of 350 graduating students from three colleges in Vadodara, Gujarat. 

The skill training programme will last 4-6 months. The programme in association with TISS will be wholly funded by Schaeffler India. The main objective of the NUSSD programme is to provide skill training and to boost professional skills.

NUSSD Course Curriculum 

According to a signed memorandum of understanding (MoU), the NUSSD program will give training in eight diploma courses. The course curriculum will incorporate banking and financial markets, exports and imports management services, entrepreneurship, digital marketing, travel and tourism, pharma sales management, and retail management.

Santanu Ghoshal, vice-president and Head (CSR) at Schaeffler India said, "For Schaeffler, skilling is not only valuable but a viable and long-term plan. Programmes like these are in line with Schaeffler India's CSR initiative 'HOPE’."

Among 350 students, 300 students will be benefited through wage employment. Rest 50 students will be empowered through start-up community and entrepreneurship development.

'HOPE'- Schaeffler India

HOPE is Schaeffler India’s umbrella CSR initiative. CSR is a flagship initiative by TISS launched in 2013 to nurture professional skill training for college students.

Schaeffler India also administers distinct initiatives like the NITARA Beauty and Wellness academy in Vadodara.

Along with this, the Schaeffler Technical Enhancement Program (STEP) also provides financial and architectural support to educational institutions such as Koite Vasti school in Maharashtra, the Lok Vidyalaya School, and Mook Dhwani Trust in Gujarat.
