University of Hyderabad Offline Entrance Tests Starts September 24 across 38 centres


University of Hyderabad will conduct entrance examinations for admission into various courses from 24-26 September 2020.

UoH will hold entrance examination in offline that is in pen and paper mode as every year, across 38 centres. However, considering the COVID-19 pandemic situation, this year entrance tests will be held in three sessions maintaining all social distancing norms.

The University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Appa Rao, while addressing the virtual press conference announced that UoH received a total of 62,583 applications in 2020. This stands out as the highest recorded application in the history of UoH.

He said, “We will conduct the university entrance tests on September 24, 25 and 26 at 38 test centres. Like every year, the entrance tests will be conducted offline. 

All necessary precautionary measures against the Covid-19 will be put in place at the centres. This time, instead of two sessions, the entrance exams will be held in three sessions.”

University of Hyderabad: Record Applications Received 

A breakdown of the figures suggest, University of Hyderabad received 28,612 from Telangana, 7,019 from Kerala, 5, 082 from Delhi, over 3900 applications from West Bengal and so on.

Considering the applicants, 35% constituted of the general category, 33% from OBC, 17% SC, 9% ST, 5% from EWS.

Apart from this, 498.96% were male, 51% were female and 11 applications (0.04%) were from transgender applicants. 

Course-wise applications included 2,536 for MA in English, I.M.A. (5-yr Integrated) Social Sciences (EC/HS/PS/SL/AN)- 2,953, I.M.Sc (5-yr Integrated) Sciences (MA/PY/CH/SB/AG) topped with 6,189, M.Sc. Physics – 3,161, and M.Sc. Chemistry- 3,847.

UoH wins Big at ARIIA 2020

Of late, University of Hyderabad also made its position secure among the top 10 Institutes of National Importance and Central University in the ARIIA Ranking 2020 as released on Tuesday (18 August 2020). This year it ranked at 10th place, stepping down 6 places from 4th rank s of 2019. 

University of Hyderabad Admission 2020: Courses Offered

University of Hyderabad is offering admissions to 132 of its courses, this year. This is inclusive of 41 postgraduate courses, 16 integrated courses, 10 M.Tech, 15 M.Phil and 46 PhD programmes.

On the whole, there are 2,456 seats will be offered for admission in 20220-2021 session.
