VTU to conduct offline exams in August, Exams to have more choices


Visvesvarya Technological University (VTU) has announced that it will conduct pen-and-paper exams for final year students from Aug 24 to 30.

VTU has said that students will be given more choices of questions as classroom instructions have been incomplete.

Previously, if there were five units/modules, students were supposed to attempt one question from each. While now, there would be 10 questions and students will be free to select any five.

The vice-chancellor of VTU has said that exams will only be conducted for final year students.

Students of the non-final year will be given an automatic extension and grades based on internal marks.

Furthermore, the university will also allow final year students who have failed in some subjects in earlier semesters, to attempt examinations of their earlier semesters, in a different set of examinations.

“Students from outside Karnataka will have to complete14-day home quarantine. They can avail the hostel facility. So can students stay in PG accommodations? Safety protocol will be followed in college hostels,” said VC of VTU.

The vice-chancellor has also said that viva-voce examination or any project work will also be held via online mode.
