WBJEE 2020: WB Higher Education Department Proposed to End Blocking of Engineering Seats

The West Bengal Higher Education Department has suggested an end to the provision of blocking seats for engineering admissions in the Counselling.

At present there are four rounds of WBJEE Counselling, however, it is proposed to conclude three rounds. WBJEE 2020 Result is expected to be declared in the month of August.

The officials who drafted the change of WBJEE Counselling proposal, also proposed that as the decentralized counselling begins, major seats will be filled by the meritorious candidates and eventually by the end of three rounds of WBJEE Counselling no seats will be vacant.

Earlier, candidates had to book their seats as per their ranks due to which many capable candidates had no chance on that seat. Also, if the candidate blocked the seat and later releases it, then the seat most probably goes vacant. This resulted in lost chances of admission for some eligible candidates.
