A few of my friends pursued ECE at NIT Trichy and IIT Gandhinagar and here are some tips for you from their experience.

NIT Trichy is the best NIT in the country and among the Top 10 Engineering Colleges for the past 50 years.
The Infrastructure, Campus, Job Placements, and Alumni Network are very well established in NIT Trichy.
It will take at least 10 years for IIT Gandhinagar to come anywhere close to NIT Trichy.

Here is a comparison of the two institutes.

Highest Domestic CTC	INR LPA	INR 17.23 LPA
Highest International CTC	INR 42 LPA	INR 40 LPA
Average CTC	INR 6.5 LPA	INR 8.96 LPA

NIT Trichy is a better choice. Don’t go for IIT Gandhinagar just because of the IIT tag, consider the above mentioned factors too.
