M.Tech Power Electronics and Power Systems, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras

On an overall scale, IIT Madras is better. It is an old IIT with a great placement record.

  • IIT Madras Research park is one of a kind. It is the first university-based research park in India. IITM collaborates with many industries for R&D.
  • The institute has an excellent start-up culture. If you have a good start-up idea, you will get the guidance and resources required from the institute.
  • IIT Madras placements are great. During the 2022 placement drive, the highest CTC stood around INR 1.98 CPA. The average CTC for the institute is INR 21.48 LPA.
  • IIT Madras offers an enviable campus life. The fests and clubs are amazing.

IIT Madras campus used to be a part of Guindy national park. Spotting deers, monkeys, wildcats, and blackbucks running around the campus is an everyday event.

EEE at NIT Trichy (2020)

One of my cousins graduated from IIT Kanpur and highly recommends it. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of IIT Kanpur.

  • IIT Kanpur has many long-stay faculties. On the other hand, IIT Madras essentially involves a fast-changing faculty team.
  • IIT Kanpur is situated in a smaller town with minimal industry exposure. It is one reason why the community at IIT Kanpur remains unaffected by the outside. It has its own airstrip, a massive Olympic-sized swimming pool. You can find numerous kinds of animal life during your stay at the institute.
  • But, IIT Madras reportedly has better meals in the mess. While IIT Kanpur inculcates lower costs and active canteen areas.
  • IIT Kanpur has one of the best cultures to be part of.

You should remain updated with the latest trends followed by either institute and choose one after doing thorough research.
