Both of these institutes are considered the best NITs in the country. Comparing them is literally not justified, but still, let me provide some facts about both these institutes which you can later use as a reference for your selection.

  • NIT Trichy has a larger campus than NITK Surathkal. However, the facilities and development are particularly the same in both the institutes.
  • The climate of Surathkal is better than in Trichy.
  • Both NITK Surathkal and NIT Trichy have the best faculty and the pedagogy followed is highly research-oriented.
  • The social life at either institute is extremely lively with several sports facilities, extracurricular activities, clubs, teams, and more.
  • In terms of the CSE department, the number of students actually placed from either institute remains almost head to head.
  • However, NIT Trichy still shares an upper hand since it has recorded the highest and average salary packages over the years.
  • NIT Trichy collaborates with ISRO, DRDO, DTU, and many other research organizations that also provide massive funds for future projects.
  • NIT Trichy approximately has over 100 startups.
  • The alumni network is robust and supportive in both colleges.
