If you follow these guidelines, passing the semester exams offered by Anna University will be relatively simple for you.

  • Always study from the required textbooks for the specific course as outlined by the university. Avoid buying regional books.

  • Give yourself some time to get ready for Part-A. (2 marks). The majority of students lose grades in this area. The majority of students prepare Part B and attempt Part-A using an idea from the questions they prepared for Part B, or they simply attempt the questions without having any kind of plan. It is preferable to prepare for Part-A separately.

  • Grades are raised by internal marks. For instance, if your internal mark is 20 and your written exam score was 89 out of 100, you would receive an S.

  • Using the test questions from the previous year will also be beneficial.

  • To get good grades, your answers must be presented neatly and written clearly.

  • To demonstrate to the examiner that you have a thorough understanding of the concept, try to include diagrams, flowcharts, examples, and equations in your responses.

First, try the questions you are most familiar with and can confidently answer. Avoid overwriting the answers.

Getting good grades at Anna University is tricky and sometimes highly unpredictable. Some just write a story and get an S grade while some really write of their own and fail. Some students study all night and barely pass and sometimes even fail while some study just before the night and get great marks.

The things which I have noticed about Anna University are given below –

  • Mug Up – Do not show off your creativity. Do not try to understand the concepts. Just learn the entire process and write them in the paper that’s it. Also, fill up the paper as much as you want.
  • Stick to the class – Write what the professor has taught you in the class. According to them, those are only relevant. You can get knowledge from outside sources but getting marks restrict your creativity quotient.
  • Internal marks – Maintain a good rapport with the teachers and get 40-45 marks in internals minimum and you will sail through easily.
  • Practice previous year’s question papers – One of the easiest hacks. Many times they straight up ask the same questions. Even if you solve 2-3 years of question paper only I can assure you that you can get an S grade.

It is one of the typical government universities where many times paper checking is flawed. The rechecking fee is INR 700 per paper and it is usual practice for students to get higher grades after rechecking.
