Yes, these Programs in IGNOU are on a credit basis and BA philosophy is in IGNOU. To pursue a BA in philosophy(not a general BA) you'll need to take a minimum of 48 credits in philosophy in a total of 3 years of program duration at IGNOU, whereas 32 credits are necessary annually. Where 4 or 8 credits are equivalent to one subject.

Credit System:

Consider all the above courses(subjects) carry 8 credits points, you can select BPY-001 and BPY-002(i.e 16 credits, rest 3 foundation subjects are necessary for the first year) followed in next year 003 and 004( which is 16 more credits) and in the final year 006 and 008 (which is 16 more credits). During the course your credits in philosophy equivalents to 48. Hence you will be eligible for BA in philosophy rather than a general BA.
