What is the procedure for a second year transfer from a private college to a GMC at MUHS Maharashtra?

AG
Apoorva Girde Posted On : October 27th, 2021
MBBS from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (2021)

I know a few people from MUHS Maharashtra and they were able to provide some information regarding the second-year transfer. According to them, students from private colleges affiliated with MUHS are eligible for second-year transfer. You can’t transfer from deemed universities.

After the declaration of first-year results, MUHS puts up a notification for transfer on their website. They make a list of all applicants and they will call you in for an interview. In the interview, they usually ask why you want to change your college.

In order to transfer, vacancies should be there in your desired college. Also, students with better marks are given preference. You will need No Objection Certificates (NOC) from both colleges. If you have contacts in the college you want to join, it can be helpful.

To apply for an externship in an MBBS course under MUHS, you need to follow the below steps:

  1. Check the eligibility: Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria for the externship program. In general, externship programs are available for MBBS students who have completed their clinical training and are in their final year of study.
  2. Identify the hospitals/clinics: Make a list of hospitals/clinics where you want to do your externship. You can choose a hospital/clinic based on your area of interest, location, reputation, and availability of the externship program.
  3. Contact the hospital/clinic: Once you have identified the hospitals/clinics, contact them to inquire about the externship program. You can do this through email, phone, or by visiting the hospital/clinic in person.
  4. Submit the application: After contacting the hospital/clinic, you may be asked to submit an application form. Fill out the application form with all the required details, such as your personal information, academic qualifications, and preferred dates for the externship.
  5. Pay the fees: Some hospitals/clinics may charge a fee for the externship program. If so, pay the fees as per the instructions provided by the hospital/clinic.
  6. Submit the documents: After submitting the application and paying the fees (if any), you may be asked to submit certain documents, such as a copy of your MBBS degree certificate, passport-size photographs, and a letter from your college indicating that you are eligible for the externship.
  7. Await confirmation: After submitting the application and documents, await confirmation from the hospital/clinic. Once you receive confirmation, you can proceed with your travel and accommodation arrangements.

What is the procedure to get transcripts from MUHS, Nashik? Do they send transcripts directly to WES for the ECA? Is there any agency that can help me through this?

In order to get transcripts from MUHS Nashik, you need to visit the college. You will be required to submit an application letter stating the reason for the transcript. A DD will also be needed as per their fee structure.

The process to get your transcripts can be tedious. Applying through Mail Transcript can be a good alternative. They will only ask for scanned copies of your mark sheets and degree certificates. Everything else is taken care of by them. One of my friends applied through this organization and they helped her to send transcripts to WES direct shipment from university.

AM
Anushua Mukharjee Posted On : October 27th, 2021
MBBS from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences

One of my friends applied for NOC from MUHS Nashik for his internship transfer. The process will be the same for a 2nd-year transfer. Here is what you need to do.

  • You will need to get No Objection Certificates from both your current college and the college you are trying to apply for. Go to the MUHS website, there will be a form. Download it and fill it up.
  • You need to draw a demand draft with the amount mentioned there.
  • Enclose all the documents with the form and DD in an envelope and send it to MUHS, Nasik. You can also drop it off personally.

After a few days, they will put up a list of students who got transferred based on merit, on the website. Download the list, and take it to the college you want to get admission to, in order to start your admission process.

Will BHMS doctor get MMC registration after completing certificate course in modern pharmacology from MUHS?

SG
Sunayana Gupta Posted On : October 27th, 2021
studied at Maharashtra University of Health Sciences

BHMS is a 4.5+1 year-long course in Homeopathy. You will learn about Homeopathy, and having a BHMS degree allows you to practice it in the future.

MBBS, on the other hand, is the study of Allopathic Medicine. In the 4.5+1 year-long course you will get to learn about modern medicine. After finishing the course, you will have the license to practice Allopathy.

Homeopathic doctors can do a one-year-long Pharmacology course to upgrade their knowledge in modern medicine. However, it doesn’t make them eligible to obtain MMC registration. The only way to get MMC registration is to do an MBBS degree.

Which book is better for studying pharmacology for the MUHS University exams KD Tripathi or Shanbag?

AD
Anamika Dasgupta Posted On : October 27th, 2021
MBBS from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences

Pharmacology is the subject of understanding pathology and the required drugs. KD Tripathi is the best book for it. Each chapter in KDT has an initial part related to diseases and then there are strategies given to treat them. Most of the concepts are explained quite clearly and in a format which can be written in examinations.

Whereas, Shanbag explains a lot of the concepts in a much simpler way and students score well in examinations. However, there are mistakes that are mostly corrected in KDT. Initially, it can be difficult to read chapters from KDT. But eventually, you will get used to it.

So, I will advise you to use KDT as standard and use Shanbag as a reference. Also, make sure to correct the wrongly mentioned things during reading.

Here are some of the tips that can help you do well in the final MBBS MUHS practical examination.

  • Make sure your basic clinical skills are correct.
  • Final year is a short time. It’s unrealistic to expect you can cover each and every topic. Complete the common topics first and move on to the other after.
  • Go through practical manuals. These are easy to grasp and consume less time.
  • Try to back up your clinical skills with theoretical knowledge.

Discuss practical examination-related topics with a group of friends. It will help you gain confidence.
