What is your review of Hindustan University?

MS
Mehar Srivastav Posted On : March 16th, 2022
B.Tech Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering, Hindustan University (2019)

Overall, Hindustan University is average at best.

  • The quality of education offered is not good. Most faculty members are fresh graduates and don’t have much experience.
  • The institute doesn’t have a good infrastructure. Although the institute claims to offer a good Aeronautical or Aerospace program, they don’t have good facilities or faculties to back up the claim. Besides a subsonic wind tunnel and four broken-down plans, the department offers zero facilities.
  • Hindusthan University fees are pretty steep. The B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering program costs around INR 14.39 Lakhs
  • The institute doesn’t offer any internships or co-op opportunities to students. The placement opportunities offered aren’t worth the high course fee.

The college lacks basic amenities that are essential for the overall growth of the students.

Which university is better for aerospace engineering - SRM, Anna, or Madras Institutes of Technology, or Hindustan University?

SG

Madras Institute of Technology is under Anna University. These two aren’t separate. If you want good job profiles with cushy salary packages, after completing your degree, MIT isn’t a good option. Not many core companies visit the campus drive for recruitment. Although placements in the non-core sector are good. MIT offers good academics and you can benefit from the institute if you are aiming to pursue higher studies. The course fee is nominal. The course costs around INR 1.58 lakhs.

SRM is a good option if infrastructure is your priority. Although the university fees are a little higher.

How is Hindustan University for aerospace engineering?

AM
Anita Mukherjee Posted On : April 8th, 2021
B.Tech in chem. Eng. from Hindustan University (2020)

One of my friends studies at Hindustan University. So, I know a little bit about the institute.

Hindustan University is recognized as a great platform for Aerospace Engineering. But the institute owes its reputation to the students who go out of their way to excel in academics without much help from the institute.

According to my friend’s experience, the institute does not offer support of any kind, be it lab equipment, leniency in attendance, or time.

  • The institute charges high fines for low attendance.
  • It also has a dress code for the laboratory which is quite uncomfortable. According to authority, it is for the protection of the students. However, there are either computer-related laboratory works or lectures, so there is actually no need for uncomfortable uniforms.
  • Also, students are not allowed to use most of the equipment in the laboratory. According to authorities, it could be potentially dangerous.

Overall, at Hindustan University you won’t have many facilities, placement offers, or any kind of support. So, it would be better to opt for other options.

What is the placement record like at Hindustan University for aerospace engineering?

RR
Raghubeer Rao Posted On : April 8th, 2021
Studied Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering at Hindustan University

One of my cousins is an alumnus at Hindustan University. Not many of his batchmates are working as Aerospace Engineers. Most of them were placed in IT companies through campus placements. The very few who are actually working in a field related to Aerospace Engineering made it there through their own efforts.

The placement report published by the university is as follows:

Academic Year

Total Number of Offers

Percentage of Placement

Number of Companies

2018-19

456

78.75%

77

2017-18

514

78.59%

50

2016-17

485

77.84%

75

In the academic year of 2018-19, for the department of aerospace engineering, 22 students registered for placement out of which 15 got placed.

A large number of software companies hire from this university. If your only concern is placement, then this might not be the best college for you because the university does not ensure 100% placement.

Hindustan University is a better option when compared to Vels Institute. Since you are looking for courses related to Arts and Science, this university will offer you the same with job-oriented courses.

  • It offers a triple major in BA that includes English, psychology, and political science.
  • They also offer specialization in BBA apart from the BBA (General). The specializations offered under BBA are aviation management, Hospital and healthcare, and logistics in collaboration with logistics sector skills.
  • B.Com course is offered under various specializations like Banking Management and Applied Accounting.
  • BCA also has specializations in Multimedia and Animation and Database Systems.
  • For the B.Sc, HITS offers Avionics Aircraft Maintenance, Fashion Design and Arts, Food Technology, Visual Communication, Cardiovascular Technology, Optometry, and Sports and Anesthesia Technology.
  • The university also gives BLIS, B.Voc in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Autotronics, Communication Design, Food Processing Technology, and Textile Design.

Apart from academics, the university provides every opportunity to excel in different extracurricular activities. There are a lot of clubs offering a joyful experience to the student life.

With such diverse courses, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science is the best choice to study arts and science courses.

Which provides better placement, Madras Institution of Technology or Hindustan University?

PB
Prabhas Bose Posted On : April 29th, 2021
Studied at Madras Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu, India

The Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) is one of the four campuses of the larger state university, Anna University, of the state of Tamil Nadu. The placement process for all these four colleges happens simultaneously in a combined process.

The placement data for MIT Chennai is given below along with the data of the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS or Hindustan University) for the year 2018-19.

Parameters

MIT, Chennai

HITS (Hindustan University)

Percentage of placed students

80-85%

78.75%

No. of visiting companies

194

77

Average CTC offered

INR 4.5 LPA

INR 4.9 LPA

So undoubtedly, MIT is better than Hindustan University in all respects as well as placements. Anna University placements are even sometimes comparable to some leading NITs and IITs in some branches such as Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). So, you can obviously realize which is better for you in terms of placements.
