Which one should I choose, Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering ISE or New Horizon College of engineering CSE?

B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata

According to the 2021 WBJEE cutoff, the required cutoff for CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology is 3434 (general). So, it will be difficult to get admission in CSE with your rank. As an alternative, you can go for IT at Heritage. It offers similar career prospects as the CSE branch.

With 4.5k rank, you can also try for KGEC EE/JGEC CSE/GCECT CSE/GCELT CSE/IEM IT/ GCETTS CSE.

At this rank in case, if you are getting a Govt. college don’t go for it as there is a very low chance of placements.

What is your review for MVJ College of Engineering for information science?

DS
Deeksha Seth Posted On : May 30th, 2021
studied Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering at MVJ College of Engineering (2014)

According to my friends at MVJ, there are several reviews of the college available on the internet, mostly having negative opinions. Let me discuss as to why it has such negative views by students -

  • The rankings, being in the top 10 or 20 are fake.
  • There is only a 200-meter ground used for all kinds of sports like football, cricket, hockey, volleyball, throw ball, etc.
  • The basketball court inside the campus is used for 4 wheeler car parking.
  • No attendance relief is provided to students who participate in inter-college sports events.
  • The faculty is changed very frequently in every department.
  • Extra classes are made compulsory, even during ongoing fests.
  • There is an extremely strict rule of wearing ID cards inside the campus. Even professors are not allowed to enter the campus without the IDs by security guards.
  • Students participating in organizing college seminars, industrial internships, cultural activities, etc. if they do not attend classes regularly, are put into the NSAR list and not allowed in exams.
  • The placement in the institute is also average. The institute makes no proper arrangement and greetings for recruiters, and so they give the same back in return for their recruitment.
  • The hostels are horrible. Hostellers are not allowed to even wash clothes inside. Food is extremely bad in the mess at the hostel. Even complaining would not matter. Only a few students are able to sustain four years in those hostels.
  • The college bus facility is very costly.
  • The campus is 16 acres wide and needs to be shared with polytechnic, M.Tech, PUC, and MBA students.

It is not recommended to go to MVJ College of Engineering. It clearly has a lot of problems with discipline and management.

What is the scenario of the IS branch in Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore?

NB
Nikunj Baid Posted On : April 13th, 2021
B.E. Mechanical Acharya Institute of Technology, Sri Krishna Institute Of Technology, Bangalore, 2020

One of my seniors graduated from the IS branch of Acharya Institutes. He has seen a considerable number of students quit because they had complaints regarding the non-payment of their salaries. They looked for better opportunities in other colleges. He did not find anything better about the department apart from the HOD and a few other lecturers.

If you are looking for employment in companies that are service-based, you will most likely get placements. If you are looking for help and motivation from your peers or faculty, you will probably be disappointed. My senior and a lot of his peers got little to no help with the same, including research activities. My senior suggests that you should choose ISE at Acharya only when you do not much have many choices and/or if you have a low rank.

Is paying 10 lakhs for an Information Science Engineering seat in Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore worth it?

SB
Sagnik Bose Posted On : July 2nd, 2021
Studied at NIT Trichy (2019)

One of my friends got into the Acharya Institute of Technology for the Information Science Engineering course through the management quota. Interestingly, I was also looking up some decent colleges for Engineering in Karnataka for my sister, so I might be able to help you with your question.

I would further be mentioning certain situations or circumstances that you might face ahead. These can be:

  • If, via KCET, you do manage to grab a college that does not match the rank that Acharya Institute of Technology belongs to, or is 2 or 3 ranks below of the institute, do not go for it as it would not be worth it.
  • This is because there would not be any difference in the institutes that are after the ones mentioned in the top -10 to 15 ones. If you have potential, your performance would establish that.
  • If you feel that ISE and CSE are genuinely your thing, go for it. If not, B.Sc. would be a better choice.
  • If the total sum of 10 lakh rupees does not seem a big deal to your family or you. You can go for it.

Under circumstances similar or closer to these, you can think about pursuing it or securing otherwise. The choice is entirely yours.

Which college is better for ISE: RNSIT, CMRIT or A.M.C engineering college?

PR
Prerona Roy Posted On : February 17th, 2021
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, RNS Institute of Technology (2021)

First, you should stop considering A.M.C Engineering College, if you are going to compare it with institutes like RNSIT or CMRIT. Among the above three institutes, RNSIT would be the best option for Information Science and Engineering.

The table below gives a brief overview of the institutes.

Particulars

RNSIT

CMRIT

AMC Engineering College

Total Fees (ISE)

3.48 Lakhs

16 Lakhs

5.58 Lakhs

Cut-off (ISE)

7203 (COMEDK UGET)

6526 (KCET)

9296 (COMEDK UGET)

15412 (KCET)

37151 (COMEDK UGET)

61959 (KCET)

NAAC Accreditation

Grade ‘A’

Grade ‘A+’

Grade ‘B++’

Median Salary (ISE)

4 Lakhs

3.5 Lakhs

4.3 Lakhs

Placement (Winning Institute- RNSIT):

  • Though placements primarily depend on the candidate’s dedication and hard work, RNSIT has a greater edge over good opportunities in the industry.
  • RNSIT and CMRIT have an almost similar level of growth. But to some extent, RNSIT is preferred over CMRIT due to the overall placement scenario, availability of companies and packages offered.

Key highlights - RNSIT:

  • RNSIT is famous for its teaching faculty, the way they help students and encourage them in the curriculum and placement.
  • Going with the fame too, RNSIT is preferred. Among the three institutes, RNSIT has the lowest closing ranks in COMEDK and KCET.
  • Ranking-wise, RNSIT leads in the race due to the lowest overall fees and a good amount of facilities offered.

So, it is evident that RNSIT is the most preferred institute for ISE among the three.
