The location of this university was excellent and I can get there using great transport links. I applied to 2 universities, with Glasgow being my number 1 choice, and I, fortunately, got accepted. For my course, I had to attend an interview and achieve AAABB in my Higher exams. This university also allowed me to do Catholic teaching, at no extra cost, which was perfect for me.
Course Curriculum :
It is very beneficial that they include Theology as an option. Having 3 classes per semester is great as it means I won't be too overwhelmed with my studies but will be challenged enough to do well in exams.
Exams :
This has been my dream job for a few years and to get there, I had to study this course. This course allowed me to do Catholic teaching also at no extra cost. I, fortunately, achieved the grades I needed to get in and I passed the interview stage so I picked this course as my firm choice. This program was very competitive.
Internship :
Yes, the university offers jobs to students. These jobs are part-time. I have not applied to any jobs yet however, I am aware of students working in the widening participation field in which they get to go out to schools and speak about the joys of university life.
Events :
Freshers Week kicks off the year every year and I am looking forward to this years. They offer every club, sport, and society and there?s a chance to do games and activities to win free stuff!
Fees :
My tuition was paid for by Students Award Agency Scotland so thankfully I do not need to pay. It's 1820(UK Limit) every year. I did not qualify for any bursaries and I did not take any loans. I just had to pay for my PVG certificate and did not have to pay to do Catholic teaching. I am glad Higher Education is free in my country.
Examination Structure :
There are two sets of exams - in semester 1 it is just before Christmas break and in semester 2 it is just before summer. This is well balanced and we get study leave to study for these exams.
Faculty :
This school offers a variety of staff, all with different expertise which is very beneficial to me if I needed help. The staff that I have met so far are all very welcoming and encouraging in the course.
