Ques. What is the PG stipend for doctors in JIPMER?

● Top Answer By Mousumi Chatterjee on 03 Nov 21

Ans. The PG stipend for doctors in JIPMER is around INR 55,000 - 65,000 per month. You can avail additional INR 6000 as HRA if you decide to stay outside.  Staying in a hostel is preferable as they are neatly maintained with 24/7 security on call. There is ample space for parking your vehicle. Free wifi is provided on the whole campus. The Mess food is also hygienic and decent at a reasonable cost.Read more

Ques. What is your review about JIPMER?

● Top Answer By Anil Tigga on 03 Nov 21

Ans. JIPMER is really good and you will be happy to be a part of it. Here are some things you should know about before making your decision. Academics -  JIPMER as an undergraduate medical school is pretty top-notch. Most departments take an active interest in lectures and clinical teaching.  Regular internal tests especially in the first and second years keep you busy and active.  Labs are well maintained.  You will have Early-Clinical-Exposure classes, Labour room postings, and a Surgical Clerkship before the internship. Some of the best departments would be Anatomy, Paediatrics, OBG, Pathology, and Medicine. Hostel -  A twin-sharing room will be provided for the first 2-3 years.  You will be shifted to a single room from third-year till the end of your internship.  The hostel facilities are decent. Food -  The common mess serves both North Indian and South Indian food.  There are other cafeterias and mess facilities too. Daily food delivery services are also available. Facilities -  They have a Gym, a Table-Tennis Hall, two basketball courts, and a Tennis court within the hostel complex.  There is Lister Ground which is used for hockey, cricket, and track events. Like any other college, JIPMER also has its flaws which include a need for a better faculty and quality mess foods. But these can be improved over time, other than these it is a nice place.Read more

Ques. Are there people who didn’t clear NEET but qualified for AIIMS and JIPMER?

● Top Answer By Meghdeepa Mondal on 30 Oct 21

Ans. Yes, there are. One of my friends got into AIIMS even though his NEET score was not that good. He is currently studying at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.  If you didn’t perform well in a particular exam, it doesn't necessarily mean you won’t be able to perform well in others too. As for my friend, he analyzed his performance in NEET and worked on his weak points to score better. Read more

Ques. Which exam is more difficult NEET or JIPMER?

● Top Answer By Kumar Shiwam on 30 Oct 21

Ans. Comparably, JIPMER is more difficult than NEET.  Unlike NEET, in JIPMER there will be conceptual questions. So, if your concept is clear in all three subjects, you can score well. English and Logical Reasoning sections can be scoring but sometimes it can be tricky too.  You will need to have good grammatical knowledge in order to score well in the English section. You will need to score at least 145-150 for the JIPMER MBBS seat if you are from the UR category. As the number of seats is limited.Read more

There is an entrance exam conducted every year, with 200 mcq questions +4 marks for correct answer, -1 for incorrect answer and 0 for unanswered questions. Ranking is based on the scores. Number of people writing this entrance is around 1.5 L. Its kinda difficult to get into.

Remarks :

Overall, studying in this college is a wholesome experience. At first, the students would feel difficulty in adjusting, especially language problems. Tamil is widely spoken by everyone here. Once they learn the basics and start communicating with patients, they get a hang of everything here.
