Ques. How is life as an MBBS student in JIPMER?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 06 Oct 21

Ans. Life is exciting as an MBBS student in JIPMER. One of my friends studied there, and here’s what he mentioned about it. The campus is lush green. The weather is always good with clear skies and on clear nights stars are visible.  There is very little pollution so the stars are clearly visible at night.  The college starts at 8 AM and the professors are very punctual at that time so they don’t tolerate even a slight delay. Punctuality is a must here.  The students always have to dress appropriately and are not allowed to wear slippers. The exams conducted are lengthy with less time duration however it prepares students for the best.  It’s sometimes hard to deal with a patient in just 60 minutes even after knowing that they are in a lot of pain.  Students sometimes lose their cool and their patience.  The faculties are really nice and helpful.  They are also well-known personalities in their respective fields with lots of research or doctoral background.  In general the academic pressure was very high and students were loaded with many exams and strict attendance policy. You get to meet amazing intellectuals as guest speakers or during organized camps.Read more

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees per year is around 10k. Excluding book cost. The institution is funded by the central government. But there are a lot of miscellaneous costs which the student has to bear. The tuition fee per se is really low.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Medical curriculum js almost same all over india. But, there is a pressure of studying in an Institute of National Importance. Clinical postings and labs are very useful, but there is a lot of records to do, which I feel is of no use.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

JIPMER is a central government institution. It's an institution of national importance which is run by ministry of health and family welfare. So the fees is very low and almost every one can afford it. The total annual fees will be nearly 16000. This include academic fees, hostel fees. Other than this we need to pay almost 3000 for hostel mess monthly.

Course Curriculum Overview :

It's a good curriculum to learn the subject thoroughly. It is a three year course + 1 year optional internship.First year include anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. From second year onwards we will have postings on various labs. We have microbiology & heamatology in second year, and histopathology, biochemistry & psm on third year.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Of course the fee is feasible in our college because it is a central government instituition and we need to pay a maximum of 6000 rupees per year. It includes academic fee and establishment fee. For exams we need to pay fee for per papre. That is also feasible

Course Curriculum Overview :

In india we are facing al lots of diseases. Kidney problems are quickly destructed our countrys population. So now a days the persons with kidney diseases are more and we are giving proper guidance and doing dialysis in our centre

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee is as titular as the president of India. With a puny academic fee of 340 Per annum. It leaves only payin for accommodation and food.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course here was exhaustive with the meticulous hours put into class followed by clinics. The degree examinations are very strict because jipmer is autonomous and they do not allow passing unless satisfied. A testimony to it is our batch Startin with 116 and final ending with a paltry 6o odd becoming interns .
