The admission process is strictly based on the rank in jee mains and after that counseling in josaa which is generally conducted in July .exam are conducted twice one in January and the other one in April.
This college was near my home town and its placement was one of the best and it can be compared by top nit's.
Batch 2020 B.E, Computer Science And EngineeringAugust 4, 2020
Ranked 17 among all engineering colleges in India according to MHRD, Even though it is a government funded college it is at par with some of the NIT's, Good placement statistics with a decent package (average salary around 7 lpa for CS/IT branches), Near to my home town, Reviews from seniors and ex students was good, Campus is clean and green, Hostel and mess facilities are provided for boarders
Placement Experience :
There is a well functioning placement cell managed by staff and student coordinators. Top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Goldmann Sachs, Directi, Maruti, Reliance visit our college for various profiles like Software Engineer, Business Analyst, Operations, Consulting etc. More than 80% students are placed with an average packahe of 7lpa. Placement in our college is a very high package for some students most reputed company come to my college and give a good package to the maximum students
Our college (BIT MESRA, RANCHI) IS one of the reputed colleges in India.
The placement of all branches is almost done with avg package 6-7 LPA and the highest package 39LPA FROM CSE.
IN our college all types of recruit available like sports complex, transport, dispensary, extra curriculum and more events like BITOTSAV, VAJRA And many more
But in my college, 75% attendance mandatory.
Ans.No, BIT Mesra is not a Tier-1 college. It is currently ranked at 46th place in NIRF Rankings 2021 among top engineering colleges. We cannot compare it with top IITs but it has made its position equivalent to a few NITs.
It has upgraded its position from being a Tier 3 college to a Tier 2 college. BIT Mesra placement records have improved over the years. More than 100 companies participated in the recent placement drive.
Seeing its growth, we can say that BIT Mesra can move to the level of Tier-1 colleges in the coming year.Read more
Ques. Is it better to pursue a BTech in BIT Mesra or in Thapar University, Patiala?
● Top Answer By Admin on 11 Aug 21
Ans.Electrical Engineering is better to go for BIT Meresa whereas for everything else it is better to go for Thapar.
The quality of students will be much better in Thapar.
CSE has high cutoffs ranging from 190–210 JEE score and Mechanical and ECE also has students having around 170–175.
Whereas, in BITS, there will be many people who enter because they have a good board percentage, not a good JEE score.
For CSE and Mechanical, it has to be Thapar above BITS while for ECE and Electrical, BITS would be better.
Campus life and fests of Thapar are better as I have heard BITS has bad administration.
Thapar has increased its seats which has seen a fall in cutoffs of recent batches. The total batch strength is now around 1700.
The university has improved the existing labs and new labs have been created recently to get accreditations like ABET etc.
Check the following table for a brief insight into statistics for both institutions:
Thapar University Patiala
Average Salary Package
INR 11.76 LPA
INR 8 LPA
The administration at Thapar University believes that the fall in the quality of students can be compensated by the improvement in these parameters resulting in an overall rise in rankings. Read more
Ques. What would be a better option between BIT Mesra BTech IT branch and IIITM Gwalior 5 year IPG IT course considering the fact that I have no problem with 4 years or 5 years?
● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 22 Jul 21
Ans.The best choice will be to pursue a five-year IPG from IIITM Gwalior. The reasons are below.
There are two programs in IPG. One is IMT (IPG M. Tech) with 119 intake seats, and another is IMG (IPG MBA) with 69 intake seats. Since 2017, the institute has had a strict batch for IT+MBA, unlike before. In the past, students who failed to get a decent CGPA had no option except to take MBA after the third year and they were not allowed to take M.Tech. This is the reason, the placement statistics for the program may look average. However, the situation has changed.
IIITM Gwalior has an excellent alumni base. Even some of the recruiters coming for campus placement have a history with the college.
Some students even have cracked Google Summer of Code (GSOC), and most get an internship in their first year.
The placement details of the 2019-20 session for both institutes are below.
INR 14.58 LPA
INR 11.76 LPA
INR 42 LPA
INR 49.76 LPA
INR 6.7 Lakhs
INR 12.32 Lakhs
The batch has people with diverse backgrounds and interests, making a mix of cultures.
Overall, the return on investment (ROI) from IPG IIITM is excellent, and the course saves the traditional way of bachelor and master degree time.Read more
Ques. Which is better among Chandigarh PEC and BIT Mesra?
● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 17 Jul 21
Ans.If only one of these institutes has a branch that interests you, go for it. Being a student of PEC Chandigarh, I will suggest you go for it over BIT Mesra.
In comparison to PEC, which is located in the heart of Chandigarh, BIT, Mesra is in a very remote area.
PECs extracurricular and CSE branches are excellent, and the same can be said for BIT. Things are expected to improve under the new DSW.
Students get better industrial exposure at PEC Chandigarh than BIT Mesra.
Placements are also better at PEC than BIT.
PECs faculty members are highly experienced in their respective fields. They are cooperative and helpful.
Chandigarh being a popular place has many advantages. One of them being closer to IT firms.
This provides enough industry exposure. Students are provided with internships, industrial visits, seminars, etc. which are conducted by the IT firms.
Mindtree, Crisil, CitiBank, HSBC, etc.
Microsoft, Dell, ZS Associates, Wipro, etc.
Unless it's an IIT, colleges like BIT, PEC, Jadavpur, and VIT are all pretty close to each other, so there's not much to choose from. So choosing PEC might be a better option, but ultimately it is your decision.Read more
Ques. What is the better option if money is not a problem, Thapar NIT Rourkela or BIT Mesra?
● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 05 Jul 21
Ans.Having friends studying in all of these universities, I can say that they all are some of the most prestigious colleges in India. However, if you have to choose the best, go with NIT Rourkela without a second thought. Here’s why:
According to the NIRF ranking of 2021, NIT Rourkela secured 16th position among the best engineering colleges in India and 2nd among the NITs. Thapar University and BIT Mesra were placed at 29th and 38th positions respectively.
You will be astonished to see one of the most beautiful and eye-catching campuses in India.
You can indulge in various clubs and other co-curricular activities for the all-around development of personality.
The campus culture is really friendly and free of any sort of ragging and threatening activities.
6.4 - 7.93 lakh
Microsoft, Amazon, Qualcomm, Goldman Sachs, etc.
NIT Rourkela is indeed the best option among these and if you manage to secure a seat, you’re lucky. Besides all the above plus points, you will eventually get the NIT brand tag which will help you throughout your career.Read more
