Ques. Which is better, IIT Hyderabad CSE or IIT Madras EE?

● Top Answer By Monika on 22 Jul 21

Ans. Most students who decide to take a particular branch do not end up doing a job that is related to that branch’s core course. Almost everyone is of the opinion that branch over college. Suppose you are not that interested in a specific field, you can think of going for Computer Science Engineering. In this branch, you will get good placements and a decent job as well. However, it is possible that you will wind up with a multinational company doing a 9 to 5 job or if you are lucky, a startup. In another case, if you are not thinking of bagging high packages and want to enjoy good college life, you can think of going to IIT Madras. The college has some decent placements as well as good packages to get you by. The campus is also really great and you will get to do some co-curricular activities too which is probably not the case with IIT Hyderabad. Categories CSE at IIT Hyderabad EE at IIT Madras Course Fee 8.59 lakh 8.08 lakh Highest CTC 22 LPA 15-19 LPA Average CTC 11 LPA 8-10 LPA Recruiting Companies Wipro, TCS, IBM, Cognizant, etc. TCS, Phillips, L&T, JP Morgan, etc. IIT Hyderabad is just a cluster of 5 different buildings with empty land around it. Ques. Shall I go for IIT Bhubaneswar or NIT Rourkela or IIT Hyderabad for an MSc in Chemistry?

● Top Answer By Anil Tigga on 22 Apr 21

Ans. Well, I do not have much knowledge about the scope of MSc in Chemistry from IIT Hyderabad. But, between IIT Bhubaneswar and NIT Rourkela, I would suggest you choose NIT Rourkela over IIT Bhubaneswar. The reasons for this are as follows. NIT Rourkela holds rank 19 whereas IIT Bhubaneswar is ranked at 26 by NIRF in the year 2020. Thus, NIT Rourkela holds a better rank than IIT Bhubaneswar. The ranking that NIT Rourkela holds is mainly because of its infrastructure and research facilities. Many research papers have been published by the institute in the past years. MSc in Chemistry is a research-oriented subject. Therefore, this branch has thrived at NIT Rourkela. It is worth opting for Chemistry and Physics at NIT Rourkela. If you really like Chemistry and want to pursue a master’s degree in the subject, NIT Rourkela is definitely the right choice for you.Read more

Ques. Which is better, Data Science M.Tech from IIT Hyderabad, or Big Data Analytics Certification from IIM Bangalore?

● Top Answer By Manoj Maurya on 08 Apr 21

Ans. Among the given choices, IIT Hyderabad is better for pursuing a course in Data Science. Here is some of the information regarding both the colleges. IIT Hyderabad - It is one of the oldest and admired autonomous colleges which is offering MTech in Data science. This program is designed exclusively for professionals working in the industry. The eligible candidate should have a BTech or BE degree or an MCA/MSc/MS/ME/M.Tech. degree in the relevant field with at least 70% marks or 7.0 CGPA in one of the qualifying examinations. The candidate should also have a minimum of three years of work experience in the relevant industry. The selection is based on written tests that are being conducted by IIT Hyderabad followed by personal interviews. IIM Bangalore - The Big data analytics certification program is designed for students who want to equip themselves with an in-depth knowledge of Big Data Analytics (BDA). The course curriculum contains real case studies and hands-on demonstrations to illustrate the applications of key concepts. The eligible students should have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream with mathematics as one of the subjects during their Bachelor’s program. The students with a minimum work experience of 3 years will be preferred. The applicants are shortlisted based on the online test, academic performance, work experience, and personal interview. These are some of the details about these institutes. Both of these are best with their own programs. The final decision should be yours. One of my friends pursued MTech in Data Science from IIT Hyderabad, so I can vouch for the course.Read more

Ques. Which college should I choose between IIT, Hyderabad & IIIT, Hyderabad for a CSE course?

● Top Answer By Himani Arora on 13 Jan 21

Ans. To decide between these two colleges, it is upon you if you want to become a software engineer or a computer engineer, CSE at IIIT Hyderabad stands apart and is better than IIT Hyderabad as it offers better placement opportunities and has an advanced curriculum. Category IIT Hyderabad IIIT Hyderabad Average Fee Per Year 5.01 lakhs 2.8 lakhs Placement Percentage 80% 97% Highest CTC 43 lakhs 46.26 lakhs Average CTC 26 lakhs 26 lakhs Entrance Mode JEE Advanced JEE Advanced Companies Visited Adobe, Amazon, Microsoft, Airtel, etc. Adobe, Amazon, Microsoft, Airtel, etc. Hostel fee 35,625 35,000 Placements -  Top startups like, Pocket Gems, of the Silicon Valley, came to India and specifically to IIIT Hyderabad for recruitment. Course Essentials -  The syllabus of IIIT Hyderabad is better than that of IIT Hyderabad as you will not be compelled to study Science Subjects, Mechanics, Engineering Drawing but at IIT Hyderabad, you will have to study Machine Learning and Deep Learning as a part of your curriculum along with research. The Coding assignments of IIIT Hyderabad are way more different and difficult as compared to any other college. Students take part in comparative coding competitions, learn how to develop an app and much more. Faculty -  IIT Hyderabad gives exposure to different branches of CSE as well. Professors at IIT Hyderabad are young, dynamic, open-minded and extremely welcoming to new ideas. Ques. What is the placement scenario at IIT Hyderabad?

● Top Answer By Amit on 13 Jan 21

Ans. According to my fellow batchmates, out of all the IITs, IIT Hyderabad is one of the fastest-growing IIT. The location of this IIT also adds an advantage as it is an IT hub. Studying here I have realised that the college offers humongous placement opportunities to all its students. A variety of courses are offered like Fractal Academics, fractional credit courses like Photojournalism, Film Making, etc. interdisciplinary branches such as Engineering Science and various others. Category IIT Hyderabad Total Fee Per Year 5.01 lakhs Entrance Mode JEE Placement Percentage 80% Highest CTC 44 LPA Average CTC 26 LPA Companies Visited Adobe, Amazon, Microsoft, Airtel, etc. Hostel fee 35,625 Placement Overview at IIT Hyderabad for 2020– Placements at IIT Hyderabad for the last year saw 96 offers with 22 international offers. The highest number of placements were seen in CSE and Mechanical Engineering. Among the top paying companies were Infosys, Dell, Deloitte, and Microsoft. The highest package offered to the students was 53.7 lakhs per annum whereas the average package was 18 lakhs per annum. The placement rate for IIT Hyderabad is 80%. Placement Overview at IIT Hyderabad for 2019– Placements at IIT Hyderabad for 2019 saw 96 companies with 273 offers including 37 pre-placement offers. There were 38 international offers as well. The highest number of placements were seen in CSE and Mechanical Engineering. Among the top paying companies were Goldman Sachs, Jaguar Land Rover, and Microsoft. The highest package offered to the students was 53.7 lakhs per annum whereas the average package was 16.7 lakhs per annum. It is important to bear in mind that not all students sit for placements. A lot of them opt for higher education in India or abroad instead of sitting for placement. In 2013, the college saw only 52 recruiters and the number has increased to almost 100 for the past year. It shows a lot of improvement over a very short time span. If you want to pursue higher education, IIT Hyderabad has strong collaborations with various institutes of Japan that conduct student exchange programs. Therefore, it all depends on you. Even if you do not get placed through campus placements, you can always opt for off-campus placements or higher education as well by the time you get your degree.Read more
