IIIT Hyderabad PGSSP admission 2023 is currently open for the spring semester. The last date to apply for the same is December 11, 2022. Eligible candidates can apply online on the official website of the institute. Admissions to the PGGSP program at IIIT Hyderabad will be offered on the basis of academic qualifications and work experience.

IIIT Hyderabad offers a Postgraduate Student Status Programme, also known as PGSSP, on a part-time basis which is included in a formal degree. The course is offered to the working professionals of the Hyderabad region.

IIIT Hyderabad PGSSP Eligibility Criteria

Applicants interested in the PGSSP course of IIIT Hyderabad must be qualified with one of the following:

  • Candidates should have either Bachelors (BE/ B.Tech) or a Master's degree in Engineering, Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA), or a Master’s degree in Science/ Mathematics (M.Sc).
  • Candidate should be a resident of Hyderabad and produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC TEMPLATE) from the employer to attend the classes during office hours.

Admission to the PGSSP program of IIIT Hyderabad is based on the academic merit of the candidate including the experience record. Students don’t need to crack any entrance test to be eligible.

IIIT Hyderabad PGSSP Application Process

To apply for PGSSP admissions, following are the steps that students need to follow:

  1. Visit the official website of IIIT Hyderabad.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Admissions’ tab.
  3. Click on Postgraduate, then click on PGSSP.
  4. Register yourselves with a valid email id and password.
  5. After successful registration, Login credentials will be generated.
  6. Login using the generated email id and password. Candidates will be redirected to the application form.
  7. Fill the application form with required academic, personal, qualification and work experience related details.
  8. Proceed to pay the application fee of INR 1000 via Credit Card/ Debit Card or Net Banking.
  9. Submit the application form and take a print out of the same for future reference.

IIIT Hyderabad PGSSP Course Details

IIIT Hyderabad provides a PGSSP program for the working professionals employed in the Hyderabad region, interested to pursue higher education. Students who join one of the full time or part-time programs subsequently at the institute, whose courses are taken under the PGSSP program can be counted towards a formal degree from the institute, provided the chosen course must be only of PG level or UG Senior level.

Course Curriculum: Students can register for any course in the institute provided they meet the required eligibility criterias. A minimum of one course and a maximum of two courses are allowed every semester for which the classes are conducted twice or thrice every week. Students are required to attend classes within weekdays and maintain their attendance.

Ques. Is there any SC/ST/BC, women, physically challenged quota for IIIT Hyderabad PGSSP admissions?

Ans. For PGSSP courses, there is no SC/ST/BC, women, physically challenged etc. quota or reservation of any kind at IIIT Hyderabad. All admissions are strictly based on the merit of the candidate in academics and experience of work. All admissions are in an open category. 

Ques. What if I have paid the application fee (or any other fee) for PGSSP more than once at IIT Hyderabad? Is refund applicable on the full amount?

Ans. In case you have paid the application fee (or any other fee) more than once by mistake or for any other reason you find the amount has been debited from you more than once, candidates are advised to immediately send a mail concerning the same. The admissions office will cross-check the same and inform you of the refund possibility. As regards the refund amount, please note that the refund for the additional payments, if any, will be only for the fee amount that was charged by the Institute and will not include the Transaction and/or Bank charges paid as part of the online payment process. 

Ques. What is the course duration of the PGSSP program offered by IIIT Hyderabad? What is the required eligibility?

Ans. PGSSP program is offered as a part time program to working professionals interested in pursuing higher education. The course is offered for a minimum duration of 2 years. Candidates with BE, B.Tech M.Tech (not necessary from CS) or MCA degrees, minimum 1 year experience in software industry and residents of Hyderabad, Telangana are eligible to apply for the same. 

Ques. How many subjects can be taken per semester for IIIT Hyderabad PGSSP? Can students take leave for 1 semester?

Ans. A student can opt for a maximum of 2 and a minimum of 1 subject in a semester. Semester-long leaves can be taken, but students have to contact the admission office for approval.

Ques. What is the semester schedule for IIIT Hyderabad PGSSP? 

Ans. The monsoon semester for IIIT Hyderabad PGSSP will starts from first week of August and end in the last week of November. The spring semester will start from January (or last week of December) and end in the last week of April/May. There will be summer vacations in July and winter vacation in December.
