Campus Life:

Social life at NALSAR is undoubtedly one of the best. You'll you have some or other fest almost every month eg. Awadh magadh, Rajasthani fest, Lodhi fest, Southie fest, west fest, Telugu fest, Onam, literary fest, and the biggest fest of the year is "Carpe diem". Along with these, you can dance your shoes off on frequent DJ nights organized. The resources that nalsar library offers both online and offline will surely set you ahead in your research as a student. The huge database of books, e-databases like manupatra, SCC online, journals, pwd friendly resources, and staff, etc. Classrooms are fairly good and modern to suit the needs of students. Sports like cricket, football, basketball, kabaddi, etc. have college teams and indoor games like chess and table tennis are also encouraged by the student groups. Almost every social group and club is wholly student-run like an academic committee, ADR, debate club, literary group, moot club, social welfare, mess, workers' social welfare committee, etc.

Ques. How are hostels in Nalsar?

● Top Answer By Krishna Srivastav on 08 Sept 21

In your first three years at NALSAR, you will share a room with one other person. These rooms aren't as huge as you'd like, but they're also not too inconvenient. When you reach the fourth year, you will be assigned a single room. These rooms aren't particularly large, either. If you're lucky, like me, you might be able to get a room with a view of Shamirpet lake. The boys' hostel block has become overcrowded as a result of the increased admission. The girls' block is a little busier than normal, but it hasn't hit capacity yet. They've also lately built a massive new hostel that offers single rooms to its residents, so that problem appears to be resolved. A volleyball court, a common room, and big balconies are available in each dormitory. There are two gyms in each hostel block. Two beauty salons are located in the girls' hostel block. Each block also has its own coffee shop/eatery, which is open until 1 a.m. A Hostel Committee, made up of students from all batches, is in charge of all hostel-related matters....Read more

Ques. What is the hostel policy in NALSAR University of law regarding boys entering girls hostel and vice versa?

● Top Answer By Rudra Veerabhadraiah on 31 Aug 21

The hostel policy at NALSAR University is like other hostels of renowned universities. Students of the same gender are allowed in the hostel. The opposite genders are refrained from entering the other hostel’s premises unless they possess an endorsement or approval of the authorities.  Failure to maintain this important rule is punishable by the authorities and in some worst cases might even lead to the expulsion of that very student.  The disciplinary committee on campus is beyond one’s ability to convince in case of a mishap. It's better to be careful than taking a chance....Read more

Ques. Which electronic gadgets are allowed inside an NALSAR hostel?

● Top Answer By Dhruhi Sen on 09 Sept 21

Except for mobile phones and laptops, nothing is allowed. The authority will just overlook certain gadgets like blow dryers, irons, hot plates, etc during the inspection which is not less than a raid. Gadgets like air coolers, air conditioners, refrigerators which consume a lot of electricity are not allowed. However, to be frank you have nothing to fear. During any inspection, you will find the library crowded as all the students lock their rooms and sit there....Read more

Ques. Are the rooms at NLSIU and NALSAR good?

● Top Answer By Alok Tripathi on 08 Sept 21

The rooms at NLSIU hostel are more or less okay. It is a government-backed institute and we cannot compare it with NALSAR. The rooms at NLSIU can accommodate three students. They are not very spacious and you might find it difficult to share the rooms. There is no need for AC as the weather in Hyderabad is comfortable. There are coolers for the hotter months. In the case of NALSAR, you will be sharing your room with another student for the first three years. From the 4th year onwards, you will have your own room. The rooms are not that spacious. With the construction of new hostel buildings, the problem of overcrowding is being dealt with....Read more

Ques. Is it compulsory to stay in a hostel at NALSAR and NLSIU?

● Top Answer By Rakesh Todi on 08 Sept 21

For the students of the first year who are studying in NLSIU, it is compulsory for them to stay in hostels. However, the option of going home on weekends will always be open for them. Just fill up a permission form and you are good to go. Someone I know used to be a student of NLSIU and she and her batchmates used to visit their families this way. If you live in Bangalore, you can travel from your house to the institute without asking for permission. After you have completed your first year you will be able to live off-campus. Knowing the busy traffic of Bangalore, it may get difficult to travel to and from the campus. This is not allowed in NALSAR, though. You will have to spend the entirety of your course in the hostels....Read more
