Assam University BPharm Key Highlights

Admission mode is Online/Offline.
For admissions into the first year, the students must have passed their (10+2) examinations having PCM (or B) subjects from a recognized university with a pass percentage of 50.
Eligible students are selected based on the entrance test followed by an interview conducted by the university. (Note: May vary if the pandemic persists)

Assam University BPharm Eligibility Criteria

For admissions into the first year, the students must have passed their (10+2), i.e a minimum of 50% percentage in the Board examinations from a recognized institution/college/school.
For lateral entries (third semester), the student must have passed the D.Pharm course from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India.

Eligible students are selected based on the entrance test and an interview conducted by the university. (Note: May vary if the pandemic persists)
Owing to the pandemic, the admissions for the year 2020-21 were completely based on the merit list prepared based on aggregate percentage secured in these respective subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (whichever is higher of the two).

Assam University BPharm Course Details

The duration of the course is 4 years comprising 8 semesters.
The total intake for the course is 50.
The overall credits are distributed among theory courses, tutorials, practical, practice School and projects
The minimum number of credits required for the completion of a BPharm degree is 208.
For the lateral entry students, 52 credit points transferred from their D. Pharm program and are required to take any 2 additional courses to attain 59 credits (maximum credits for ? and ?? semesters).

Assam University BPharm Program Details

The medium of instruction for the course and examination will be in English.
Each semester will have a minimum of 100 working days.
The odd semester commences in June/July and ends during November/December while the even semester extends from December/January to May/June according to the academic calendar year. (Note: The dates may vary due to the ongoing pandemic).
The minimum attendance required for a student to be eligible to write the exam is 80% (for all the courses including theory and practical).

Assam University review

As I am a NEET aspirant, after being unqualified for NEET, I want to study medical courses, and I think doing BPharma from a central university is a better choice. The faculty are highly qualified, some teachers are passed out from IIT BHU, and some are gold medalists, I think you can't feel the lack of knowledge from the teachers. There are 14 teachers and faculty. You can see their qualifications in detail on the University's website. In semester 2 seasonal exam of 30 marks and one final exam of 75 marks are done.
