What students say about Assam University

Likes

  • The course curriculum was fairly updated and provided all the required knowledge for the subjects I opted for.
  • Students can apply for internships and many opportunities are provided here. Additionally, there are many online modes through which one can obtain internships.
  • I received 6000 rupees as stipend for each two-week internship, which was great.
  • The Assam University itself gives scholarships, and scholars also receive scholarships from politicians.
  • Campus life is quite good; the gender ratio and college diversity are also good.
  • The meal quality is also good; they have the menu based on which they serve the food.
  • The university has all the facilities that any good university should have: good faculty, excellent infrastructure, etc.

Dislike

  • In the law department, the placement rate is 100 percent, while in the rest of the departments, it ranges from 60 to 70 percent. Due to the underdeveloped location of the University, we receive less response from industries.
  • College management is not good, and to conclude, the faculty is also not good in this college. Therefore, it is difficult for students to complete courses.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose B.Tech because of my interest in engineering. The teachers in my department are very good, very helpful, and approachable. If we talk about my department there are 25 faculty members and about 800 students studying.

Remarks:

Assam University is a central university. There are many courses available like B.Tech, B.sc, Law, etc. and the admission process is very simple. University will conduct the exam every year for every course. There is a reservation provision available for admission.

From 3rd year Dabur, Colgate, Cipla, etc. comes for. The highest package is up to 8 Lac. and avg. package of 5-6 Lac Almost 90% of students are getting placements. After completing B.pharm should opt. M.pharm by cracking GPAT.

Remarks:

Must pass their (10+2) with a minimum of 50% in their Board Examination from a recognized College. No improvement is required in admission. Find application details, fees, and dates in the AUS official portal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am a student at Assam University Silchar. The faculty of this college is very good also the campus is very big, If you want to take admission you can come and join. The exams are taken on time. The campus is very beautiful also.

Remarks:

I am a student at Assam University, Silchar. It is a very nice college or university. The eligibility is the 12th pass minimum. Your percentage should be more than 70% to get admission. If you have a caste certificate then you will get very much relaxation.

Placement Experience:

On on-campus placement, the cell is here which is capable of bringing many companies for placement inside the campus although the package is not high (4 to 5 lakh on average). One can prepare for govt jobs and can prepare for competitive exams also.

Remarks:

I joined this institute through Jossa /Csab. The admission process was smooth but there is no benefit for Sc/St category in any fees. Bus facility is available here for both Hostelers and Day scholars. The campus is vast and has all types of Sports equipment.

Placement Experience:

After my admission means after 2021 there is placement in our department because it's closed for about 2 years due to COVID-19, I heard from my seniors there is placement happened in 2018-2019 and the average package is about 200000.

Remarks:

In my time there is a two-way process to get into the course. Firstly they calculate the 25% of the Class 10th mark + 25% of the class 12th mark and the other 50% is covered by an entrance conducted by them. The entrance is MCQ type and 50 Mcq are there. For the application process, you have to check the university website Now the admission process is changed and it's done through CUET(common university entrance test). And there is no PI (personal interview). Out of 50 seats around 23 seats are for general students and the remaining are distributed among the Sc, St, Obc, and EWS quotas. I think now the admission process is good.
