From 3 years you can apply for placement. The highest package for this year is 44 LPA, and the average is around 10 LPA. Nearly 25-30 companies visited this year. The percentage of placement is around 60 percent. Although the percentage is low if you have a talent you can apply for off-campus. I would like to have a placement.
I had taken admission through JEE MAINS, The list of branches available here through JEE MAINS, B.Tech are Computer Science And Engineering, Electronic And Communication Engineering , Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Engineering, And Technology. For taking admission in CSE here for the general category you need around 94-95 percentile in JEE MAINS. The campus is so beautiful, facilities are also very good here.
The placements at Tezpur University are rather a nightmare. It offers very less opportunities in terms of placements. Big companies do not visit the campus. Mostly TCS visits the university and recruits the freshers. From our batch the highest package received was 6LPA and only 3-4 people were placed with below-average packages. The % of students getting placed is very low even for a central university. Maximum students need to opt for higher studies or go for off-campus placement due to lack of placement.
Admission to Tezpur University is solely based on the JEE Mains exam and students are called for counselling after releasing the merit list. The courses and admission procedures are detailed on the university website and are easy and simple. During my time the counselling was done in person and we had to go to the university for it but after COVID, situations have changed and counselling is done online now. The reservation benefits can also be availed in the admission process per government norms.
The average placement of our department last year was about 4.93LPA and almost 80% of students got placed. The placement scenario is changing and good companies have started to visit the campus post covid. Many PSU too comes for direct recruitment. Students in the core branch either prepare for GATE or aim for higher studies.
One has to appear in JEE exam and apply in JoSAA of CSAB counseling however only 40% of seats are filled through the All India quota and the rest 60% of seats are reserved for North East Quota students whose application generally gets released on the university website and the admission is done by University Administration only.
Most probably the students are made aware of internships and jobs during the 5th semester. Popular brands like AMUL, ITC, Britannia, etc have visited the university for campus placement and the total number of offers made during the session 20-21 is 25. The highest package was around 5.5 lpa and the average was about 4.09 lpa. After graduating I might apply for placements or pursue my masters
I got admission through the NCL quota of the OBC category in the 2nd counselling (spot round). The admission process is really slow, could have added more digitalization. As we, the students, have to go one after another for the document verification and payment process plus we have to fill up some forms which could have been made avail earlier on the website.
Almost all students are placed who study hard in college.placement percentage is less but considering north east quota having 60% students admitted also on 200000 to 500000 rank placement is good if you neglect those students.Keep in mind if you study well here then you will end up getting job after 4 years. If you don't study well then you might not get job.so come in this college only when you are sure that you will study.
There are many options by which a student can take admission in this college like jee,by lateral entry in 2nd year.north east students are admitted on the basis of north east quota also in which low jee marks are required for admission through this mode. Also 40% seat are reserved for students from jee excluding north east quota while remaining 60% are reserved for north east quota students. If a student has low marks in jee due to which he is not getting nit then you must consider this over most of gfti.
As I told you if you are at Tezpur University, you don't need to worry about your placements. From the second year, you are eligible to go through various training sessions. In our Civil department, the average package is 5lakhs and the highest is 23 lakhs
You have to crack jee mains and cross the cut-off for Btech at Tezpur University. You have to apply for counseling through CSAB or JOSSA for getting admission. After your seat will be reserved you get a message from them. If you apply through NEUT Kota you will get more benefits. The placement process at TU is very good because of the good teaching faculty and good alumni network.TU is one of the top-ranked GFTIs in India. If you get a chance, don't miss it you will explore various kinds of activities. In Assam, Tezpur University is ranked next after NIT SILCHAR so you don't need to worry about that which type of college you are going to study. Not only CSE placements but all department placements are very good. A guy from Civil eng. also cracked a 23 lakh package and recently working in the company.
Placement is a bit low here because of the location of the university however many MNCs like TCS, Wipro, and Capgemini come for placement. Many students prepare for GATE or go for higher students in their domain.
One has to appear for JEE Mains exam and secure a rank and then apply for counselling through JoSAA/CSAB. However, only 40% of seats are for All India quota students and the rest 60% is for North East quota students.
The campus placement percentage of BTech in mechanical is about 70%. the average package of ME is about 6 lpa. several national and international companies like Luit minerals, cognizant technology solutions, Edventure, tech Mahindra, Infosys etc. come here to recruit every year. the highest package of ME is about 36 lakh lpa recruited by Infosys. total 268 offers are given by companies up to now. Students can sit in the campus placement cell from the 7th semester. some of the PSU companies like OIL INDIA, BHEL, power grid etc. come to recruit here. My plan after completing my BTech degree is to join PSU companies either by campus placement or by GATE scores.
The admission process in BTECH in TU is done through josaa/csab and NE QUOTA.60% of the seats are filled through NE QUOTA and 40% of the seats are through josaa /csab. admission process for NE QUOTA starts early from josaa /csab. the admission process for josaa /csab is quite hectic. You have to wait and have some patience if your rank is above 1 lakh. classes start regularly at right time, So don't be too late for taking admission. There is a separate application form for NE QUOTA admission which comes on the TU website two months before josaa. In order to take admission you have to appear in jee main and have to secureCRL a rank of up to 1.5-2 lakh. The admission process in the college is very fast and teachers are quite helpful when you face any difficulties while taking admission.

MABy - Muzammil AhmedThe admission is based on the score in CUET and the subject of choice. One has to appear in CUET conducted by NTA and after the result has to apply to the Tezpur University website separately after which on the basis of merit admission is offered.
