Remarks :

Panjab university is among the best universities in India which has always been there among the top 100 universities of India . The teaching staff is great . All the professors are well - knowledged in their field and are Phds having 10-20 years of experience . The environment of the university is super cool . You will get to know your different version when you get into this university . Various fests are organised in the university time to time which lead to development of skills in students Ayushmann Khurrana , Yamini Gautam , Kiron Kher and many others - they all are the product of Panjab university. Various student political parties are there and elections are held every year . These student parties work for the betterment of campus and students . In short , PU is a place where you will get exposure and chance to explore yourself and will help you in your overall development.

Ques. Which university is better DU, PU or Jammu University?

● Top Answer By Shivani Tiwari on 27 Oct 21

Ans. It entirely depends on which course you are choosing. However, overall DU is definitely better than PU and Jammu University. The academics and faculty base are almost the same at these universities. However, academics are not the only influencing factor in the overall development of students. Curriculum, exposure, and other additional things also play crucial roles.   At DU, you will have great exposure. DU has many societies like dance society, fashion society, debating society, etc. If you have any passion, you can explore it at DU.  The peer group at DU is also better.  If we speak generally, for the given institutes, your preference order should be DU>PU>Jammu University.Read more

Ques. Which is better: Delhi University or Panjab University?

● Top Answer By febin jose on 23 Sept 21

Ans. If you consider the campus, then obviously Panjab University is ahead of Delhi University. When we talk about studying in an affiliated college, which is better is decided upon the choice of college and stream. Panjab University left behind IIT in terms of research and the number of citations every year.  It has also been recognized as the “University with potential for excellence in biomedical sciences”.  The university has also actively participated in the project called International collaboration for research for elementary particles and the large hadron collider, Geneva CMS experiment with the government of India with a grant of Rs.2.49 crores.  There is a one-year mandatory research project for Master of science and art courses.  Students also have the discretion of doing minor and major research projects in their first and second year of Masters respectively. These projects provide hands-on experience in the research field.  The college has one of the best libraries, a 24-hour open reading room, and a very beautiful campus. Category DU PU Total Fee 1.92 lakh 4.8 lakh Companies Visited Deloitte, KPMG, DE Shaw, etc. Infosys, Honewell, etc. Highest Package 21 LPA 33 LPA Average Package 10 LPA 15 LPA For instance, MCM DAV college and GCG, Chandigarh – both are top colleges under Punjab University just like Lady Harding and Miranda House under Delhi University. Yet, Punjab University is above par Delhi University in both cases.Read more

Ques. Which is better for a B.Tech: Punjab University or Thapar University?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 06 Aug 21

Ans. A few of my friends graduated from both the mentioned institutes and here are some insights regarding the institutes, based on their experience. If you can afford the fee structure of Thapar university then surely go for it. Also, if you have a good rank then you must try other central government colleges of engineering in Punjab i.e NIT Jalandhar as well SLIET Longowal in district Sangrur, Punjab. Here is a brief comparison of Punjab University and Thapar University.  Particulars Punjab University Thapar University Total fees 70.08 K - 4.26 L 13.23 L Placement percent 70% 90% Highest salary INR 20 LPA INR 43 LPA Average salary INR 7 LPA INR 8 LPA Else, if you want to take chances in the state government college then give priorities to PAU Ludhiana, GNDU Amritsar after that you can try for Punjabi University Patiala.Read more

Ques. Which is better, chemical engineering from UICET PU Chandigarh, chemical engineering from Thapar University Patiala or computer science from CCET Chandigarh (affiliated to PU)?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 05 Aug 21

Ans. Having a few friends from both institutes I might be able to share some facts about both the institutes. Chemical Engineering at UICET is better than Chemical at Thapar University or CSE at CCET. UICET is a well-renowned university and has a reputed department.  They have brilliant placement records and a strong alumni base. Laboratories and faculty at UICET are better than those at Thapar. Course fees at UICET for chemical engineering are very less than that in Thapar University.  Thapar is no doubt a well-reputed university but as far as chemical engineering is concerned UICET is better. CCET is affiliated with PU located in sector-26 Chandigarh. It is well known for its diploma courses. However, UICET is any day better than CCET in all terms. Categories Chemical Engineering at UICET Chemical Engineering at Thapar University CSE at CCET Chandigarh Course Fee INR 70,079 13.23 lakh 2.45 lakh Highest CTC 18 LPA 15 LPA 12 LPA Average CTC 6.31 LPA 7 LPA 4-5 LPA Recruiting Companies Honeywell, Reliance, Pfizer, Piramal Healthcare, etc. Reliance, GAIL, ONGC, GlaxoSmithKline, etc. Infosys, Godrej, L&T, HCL, etc. Your preference order should be Chemical Engineering at UICET> Chemical at Thapar University> CSE at CCET.Read more

Ques. What are the best things for Punjab University students to do on weekends?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 28 Jun 21

Ans. Punjab University is located in Chandigarh and there are many places to visit and things to do there on weekends. But then again after some visits, it will eventually become repetitive and except for a few places which are worthy of a second visit, you will eventually get bored. So here are some things you could try to do on weekends instead – Mohali, a nearby town in Punjab is famous for international cricket matches as well as IPL. You could visit there sometimes with your friends. The university campus is beautiful. If you are a photography enthusiast or you are fond of making video blogs, then definitely you could consider doing those during weekends. Also, the city of Chandigarh is close to the Himalayas. So there are plenty of hill stations such as Manali, Kullu, Kasauli, etc. to visit and spend the weekend in mother nature’s lap. You could also join some club or committee or society and work on your weekends. They organize various activities such as street plays, blood donation camps, BP and diabetes-free check-up camps, etc. You could volunteer for such activities which will help in better utilization of your time along with doing your bit for the society. Lastly, you could also sleep in your own room and enjoy movies, TV shows, etc. on Netflix. This is the most common thing that youngsters do. If you are among those who like to keep their rooms clean, then you could do that on your weekends as well.Read more
