There is nothing new happening in the college there annual tech-fest in the month of November and different events are organized by different clubs and societies over a period of time Books and journals are available in a vast library for free. All sports are present with coaches. Some clubs are IEEE, EIC, etc.
The hostel facility is just OK there is nothing provided in the room except a fan, bed, and light. The student has to manage on their own. Mess meal quality is 5/10 but one can manage. Registration is easy and one is guided by the hostel staff. No nearby PG is present.
PECFEST(cultural) is conducted at the end of the year and PECFEST(technical) is conducted at around mid-year. Both are great and basically the same for someone who wants to enjoy. There are many books available in the library and you can even ask for them if a book is not there. Classrooms have projectors, ACs (not all), and normal chalk/whiteboards. There are plenty of extra-curricular activities like cricket, football, basketball, tennis, Dramatics(dance+acting), singing, bhangra, editorial boards, and societies for each branch-specific thing. Most of the clubs are run by students only and they provide good opportunities for someone to grow in that field.
Campus life is great, though PEC's own campus is not that modern and campus size is also very small when compared to NITs like Jaipur, But its location makes it different and joyfully as PEC is in between the main city Chandigarh and has all facilities one can imagine, NAB is newly built and have all modern day teaching techniques but other departments are very old but construction of new infra is going on. Sports are not that good in this college but extracurricular activities are very highly intensified you will never get bored after coming to PEC, each and every day of College some event is going on.
Hostels are really very expensive and can never satisfy their cost, hostels cost around 80k per year which doesn't include the mess fee, which is around 3.7k per month, being too much expensive still hostels are very poor, it feels like slummy areas, though PEC is building new hostels those very good those are given to very limited students, you will get that old hostel, it will take time to get adjusted in these hostels, Mess food also very poor initially but it had improved a lot as Hostel committee takes review after a month of mess food and then it's changed if the review is negative.
There is PECFEST the annual Cultural and Technical Fest of PEC. The main attraction is star night and a number of events by the societies and Clubs. There are more than 12 Technical societies in college including ACM CSS, IEEE, and others. There are more than 10 Cultural Clubs at PEC including SAASC, Editorial Boards(Punjabi, Hindi, English), Dramatics, Music, etc. There is a focus on sports as well with teams in Cricket, football, etc.
Our college organizes the largest fest in North India known as PECFEST. Fest can be conducted either in the month of April or in October. Our Library has a collection of more than 1.5 lacs books. You can easily get a book issued if required on the basis of the availability of books. The classrooms are quite big and fully air-conditioned. Smart class facilities are also available in the classrooms. Talking about sports facilities college has an athletic ground, football ground, gymnasium, badminton court, cricket ground, basketball court, lawn tennis court, and also various indoor games equipment are also available inside the hostel. There are various clubs for various activities such as coding, robotics, painting debating, quizzing, etc. You can be part of various clubs according to your interest.
Campus Life is cool Our fest is PECFEST which is considered One of the biggest college fests in northern india it's generally organised after the month of August i.e. end side of the year we experience a footfall of more than 30k in this event with great stars Also, there are some technical fests being organised from time to time by many technical clubs in our college There's a library with books related to the curriculum there, we can take them for use but if we are late then generally the probability of books being available is very low also the library is OK-OK. The campus is also OK-OK you will find a green campus with a decent infrastructure for A.C classes, also Chandigarh is a City with beautiful structures and planning and it's amazing to be here, there are many tourist destinations nearby. The sports activities are decent but I will appreciate the clubs here as there is a club for almost everyone if you want to be in tech, sports, management, coding, dance, drama, music, NCC, NSS, and many more
The admission process is simple to understand, we need to give an entrance exam called JEE which is very famous in India, people who got 75%+ in their 12th boards in stream PCM can apply for the exam. After giving the exam we need to wait for the result in which our rank is declared and after that counselling process is done by govt. colleges which allot colleges and streams to students if they filled that in the list, according to their ranks. The application form for jee is released by nta on their website nta.nic.in and application fees at my time was 650 per exam attempt, it's a Little bit higher now. Students with good ranks in jee mains can get this college and the cut-off for my stre
MsBy - Mayank sajnaniIf you want to get admission to PEC you have to give JEE MAIN exam and have to secure a decent rank around 10-12K if your aim is to get the CSE branch and around 18 k for the data science branch. For the rest of the cutoff, you may refer josaa counseling website. You can apply for this college through JOSAA and CSAB counseling. Reservation for various categories are present here and students can take admission through sports quota also. Admission process is quite simple and same as most of the government engineering colleges.
USBy - Ujjawal SidanaThe Entrance exam for this was JEE Mains which is conducted in Computer Based Test format by NTA. The application form can be found on the NTA website. No reservation benefits are availed. The cut-off was about 8500 in rank.
