Remarks :

The admission in this college starts in the month of July. It is done through the Joint Admission Counselling (JAC). There are 3 more colleges that come under JAC, namely NSUT, IGDTUW, and IIIT Delhi. The procedure of admission for all these colleges is the same. This college has a good campus life and a good placement too.

Remarks :

Admission to the University is based on Jee Mains rank and it generally starts from mid-July every year. There are a variety of courses that are offered, from Computer Science to Electrical to Mechanically related branches. It has one of the biggest and lush-green campuses across India. Everyone is quite innovative here. There's a healthy competition among students. It pushes you to work even harder. Every year no. of seat increases by 5-8%, and this might lead to a stiff competition so this could be a little turndown for some people. I used Collegedunia while selecting the College.

Ques. What would be better for me: NIT Trichy, DTU or NSIT CSE, if I am a north student?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 03 Sept 21

Ans. One of my friends was in an exact situation 2 years back and had to choose between NIT Trichy, Warangal, DTU, and NSIT. Let me give you an unbiased answer, with the details I got from him. First of all, we need to keep in mind that every institute has its pros and cons. Pros and Cons of NIT Trichy NIT Trichy has a highly experienced faculty. Students graduating from NIT will hold the prestigious NIT tag, which can sometimes be valuable. Students here are very enthusiastic. They get involved in projects, interactive clubs. They also have a decent coding culture. Placements at NIT Trichy are really great. There are 1 to 2 reputed firms that visit only the top 3 NITs after IITs. Due to its location, they lack proper industrial exposure. Seminars and internship opportunities mostly depend on that. However, things are developing and growing there. If you are North Indian, you might find it difficult to adjust to the food, culture, weather, etc. Pros and cons of DTU and NSIT They have a great industrial exposure and brand name. If you are not a hardcore CSE inclined student and might want to pursue MBA later, this is the right place for you. Excellent coding culture and options for research projects in IIT-D or IIIT-D. Superb placements and by famous companies like Microsoft, Google, etc. Their faculty is average, as mentioned by the students. The demand for CSE batch results is more competitive. My friend chose DTU because of their senior-junior interaction, which had been a legacy since it was DCE, which makes up more than for any negative point. DCE Coders and DCE Programmers are great examples of this.Read more

Ques. Is BITS, Goa comparable to DTU and NSIT or other top NITs?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 30 Aug 21

Ans. I have a few friends from BITS Goa, so I think I can give you some insight regarding the institute. It is a well-reputed college with a beautiful campus. You will have good exposure and decent opportunities here.  Placements: The average CTC offered by BITS Goa is 14.88 LPA. Most recruiters at the institute are new start-ups. DTU, NSUT, and top NITs definitely offer better placement in comparison. Campus: The BITS Goa campus is beautiful. It is spread over 180 acres.  College Life and Fests: The annual cultural fest for BITS Goa is ‘WAVES’. It is quite popular. College life at BITS is good. But DUT and NSUT offer better college life comparably. Faculties: The faculties at BITS Goa are excellent and very supportive. They are strict with deadlines and assignments.  Comparably, DTU, NSUT, and top NITs are better as compared to BITS Goa. Read more

Ques. Which is better IPM course in IIM Indore or B.Tech CS in DTU?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 27 Aug 21

Ans. IIM Indore and Delhi Technical University (DTU) are both very good institutes for their respective courses. The better option among the two will be DTU if the student is not interested in either the Management course or a tech course. A close senior of mine got a choice between DTU IT course and IPM course in IIM Indore and he decided to go with It course in DTU because: - Placement in DTU is much better than IIM Indore for the past few years. The IPM course is for 5 years whereas the IT course is for 4 years. Students who want to pursue a master's degree like MS or MBA get a better opportunity and have chances of getting a good job offer. Categories IPM at IIM Indore B.Tech in CS at DTU Course Fee 26 lakh 7.81 lakh Course Duration 5 years 4 years Highest CTC 25-28 LPA 15-20 LPA Average CTC 14 LPA 8-10 LPA Recruiting Companies ICICI Bank, Nestle, Asian Paints, American Express, etc. Capgemini, Wipro, Infosys, IBM, etc. The IPM course now has been converted into a degree course, But still, students usually prefer the 4-year B.Tech course rather than the 5-year long IPM course. If you want to study management after your class 12, then IPM will be a good option for you.Read more

Ques. What should I choose, DTU engineering physics or Thapar University CS?

● Top Answer By Megha Rohilla on 10 Aug 21

Ans. Having known some people studying in both these institutions, I can say that if you plan to get a job offer, go for CS at Thapar University. If not and are interested in doing research opt for Engineering Physics at DTU. Engineering Physics is a field which does not anymore provide a promising opportunity to its aspirants.  If you go with this choice of branch you might get research opportunities after higher studies.  Moreover, if you have prioritized DTU, keep in mind that the quality of education and academic career is reducing with every passing year.  Few of the many branches at DTU are striving to keep their esteemed position with engineering physics not being one of them. Instead, CS at Thapar University would be an excellent option for building a path for your career.  This branch is known for its exceptional academics and for the opportunities held out to the students.  Although it is a batch of almost 570 students in CS you can certainly end up with a 5LPA and above package by the end of your 4th year. Categories CS at Thapar University Course Fee 13.23 lakh Highest CTC 22 LPA Average CTC 8 LPA There are many reputed companies that take part in their placement program and recruit CS graduates. These include Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini, Oracle, IBM, ZS Associates, Morgan Stanley and many more.Read more

Ques. Which is better, electronics at PEC Chandigarh or electrical/mechanical in DTU?

● Top Answer By Debdeep Majumder on 29 Jul 21

Ans. Make yourself clear that in which field you want to work. You should choose your choice of branch, irrespective of the college. Both PEC and DTU are decent colleges so the professors in both the colleges will be well-qualified and experienced. Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical being the circulate branches there are also ample of core companies visiting the campuses as well. College ranking: NIRF 2020 ranked PEC Chandigarh at 68 and DTU at 36 for B.Tech. So, here you can see that DTU has an upper edge in comparison to PEC. College placement: The highest package offered in both the colleges is almost the same but the main difference lies in the average package as well as the number of core companies. The average CTC offered at PEC is 10 LPA while it is 7 LPA for DTU. Technical and cultural clubs: In PEC, the clubs are very active and perform well both in the cultural as well as the technical domain. You will get to learn a lot about the various Technical and cultural aspects there. Location: Chandigarh has the upper edge to Delhi as their system is very well organized and clean with less population DTU has a number of opportunities available and it is a better option when it comes to exposure and city life. However, if you are looking for a peaceful environment, PEC Chandigarh would be the best choice for you.Read more
