Ques. Is it wise to go for an MBA in IIT Delhi, leaving PGDIM from NITIE? I am interested in marketing management.
● Top Answer By Admin on 12 Aug 21
Ans.If you have an option to choose PGDIM from NITIE, don’t go for an MBA in IIT Delhi. Here are some of the reasons why you should choose NITIE.
Brand Value: NITIE is recognized as a brand among the B-Schools and way more recognized than IIT Delhi for so. Most of the CAT aspirants would agree that NITIE offers one of the best courses in OPS and some other domains as well.
Alumni Base: NITIE has well established itself and has a wide and strong alumni base. You can find alumni from NITIE anywhere while IIT Delhi has yet not produced many MBA candidates in the industry, it is still new.
Peer Group: Peer learning is one of the important factors in any institution. This can change the future of the student completely. You can meet with very interactive peer communities on a day-to-day basis from diverse backgrounds at NITIE.
Placements: NITIE is well known for OPS and most of the candidates coming here are very interested in OPS and SCM profiles. This will make a pathway for the student into the Marketing profile as the competition would be relatively less.
Here are the recent placement highlights.
Highest CTC offered
INR 44 LPA
Average CTC offered
INR 20.8 LPA

At last, the candidate should choose wisely as doing an MBA is a one-time investment, thus make sure to talk to the students from both of the colleges and know the real scenario.Read more
Ans.NITIE Mumbai is one of the highly desired institutions in the country. It is funded by MHRD and has a legacy of over 50 years. The institution has a great number of alumni employed at diverse positions in supply chain roles. It will not be right to exactly know the positions of these alumni but they all play an integral role and deliver quality services to the customers.
It is ranked 8th among top government B-school in India by The Week Rankings 2019 and it is considered to be in the same league with IIMS, IITs, and IISc.
Campus Life at NITIE
Students are exposed to a good amount of academic, extra-curricular, and co-curricular activities. They are also prepared for the upcoming summer and final placement process.
The crowd at the institute is a mixture of fresh and experienced students who have worked for 3 years or more.
Students are highly ambitious and come from various backgrounds.
A thorough selection process is followed and capable students are enrolled.
One drawback that should be highlighted is that M.Tech is treated equally to the MBA during placements. Due to this, a student from PGDIE will be competing with 400-500 students instead of 100.
The communication skills of the student fraternity is not good at NITIE and this can affect during placements.
Students from IITs with an excellent academic record and having work experience are preferred more by the companies.
If you want to be in a managerial post then it is better to join NITIE than IIT.
Whether you should join NITIE or IIT depends on your choice of career. If you want a career in management then you should choose NITIE Mumbai PGDIE over IIT. However, if you want to work in the Engineering industry then choose IIT.Read more

Ques. Which one is better MBA from IIM Shillong or IIT Delhi? Also, pls suggest with reasons.
● Top Answer By Debdeep Majumder on 05 Feb 21
Ans.One of my friends is an alumnus of IIT Delhi and he has often told me about its advantages of doing an MBA. When compared with IIM Shillong for the MBA program IIT Delhi takes the lead due to the following reasons:
IIM Shillong offers great placement opportunities for Finance. ICICI Bank has recruited students from the institute and provided a great career for MBA graduates.
However, IIT Delhi and IIM Shillong both offer competitive placement opportunities for the students.
Small batch size and location advantage works in the favor of IIT Delhi and has marginally better roles and a high average and median salary for the batch of 2020.
If you are interested in Investment Banking then it is important to note that any institute has nothing to do with the placement package. You can easily become self-reliant to start a career.
Tabulated below are the placement statistics of both institutions:
No. of offers
IIT Delhi hands down take the lead when it comes to this aspect over IIM Shillong.
It is ahead of all new IIMs especially if you are interested in a career in Consulting.
When it comes to batch size IIT Delhi has a batch of 120 students whereas IIIM Shillong has a batch size of 180 students.
Smaller batch size means more opportunities for the students to choose better opportunities in placements and also ensures better interaction with the faculty.
Considering these facts IIT Delhi has a slight lead over IIM Shillong
IIT Delhi’s DMS was established way before IIM Shillong and has built a strong reputation for itself over these years.
This means IIT Delhi enjoys a much rich and diverse alumni base that is a huge positive for the institution.
Considering all these factors it is clear that IIT Delhi is better at providing more opportunities when compared to IIM Shillong, and is the better of the two.Read more
The fee structure is very similar to other colleges. Excluding Hostel accommodation and mess food they will charge you the cheapest. For example if you are a student of Masters you will be charged 5000 for tuition fees And it is affordable. If you are also taking hostel you have to give Hostel Establishment charge which is nearly 10000, electricity charges etc so the total fees for the MSc program is affordable and it is 18000 per semester. Now the mode of the payment is online. You can either pay via online banking or through paytm account. They will provide you the guidelines and the link to deposit your fees.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The courses taught in department of Chemistry IIT Delhi is worthy and research oriented. They organise course in the series with title so that you can understand the basics of the course as well as the advance. Course will help you in the research. Also they have laboratories to work where you have to do your research.
I believe it's very expensive, I most say they provide a very good services but afterall it's a government funded institute, so I believe they should cut down fee, they provide cut down for other backward classes and SC and ST category students and admission is based on rank so by paying additional money you can't get admission.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course Structure is not good, as I believe there are some loop holes in the course structure, more practical based classes should be arranged, especially in first year of the college, from second year years are very relative and research based I think so.
For students whose family income is below 5 lakh per annum, their is no tution fees. But for students whose family annual income is above 5 lakh, they have to pay tution fees of 1 lakh per semester.Every SC /ST catagory student did not have to pay any tution fees irrespective of parental income.
Apart from this every student who is a resident of hostel have to pay 20000 mess fee per semester.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The academic curriculum of IIT Delhi is very fantastic. It covers almost every aspect of engineering related to the concerned branch. However their is very less research material available for b.tech students. Most of research material is for phd students. The academic exam structure of each semester consists of three exams - 2 minor exams having 25% weight age each and one major exam(or end sem exam) having weight age of 50%
