Batch 2023 B.Tech, Information Technology and Social SciencesJune 8, 2020
Only place in India where the course computer science and social sciences was available. The college has great faculty and infrastructure. It follows a good and extensive curriculum and is known for its placements.
The management is quite strict about academics and any sort of dishonesty is not tolerated (even if you copy slightest of thing from assignment, they have advanced technologies to detect the plagiarism) and straight away an F grade is given (which is Fail in that course). But this helps us doing things on our own and learning a lot. The research culture is very good here. Btech students from first year starts contributing to it.
95%+ students got placed. average slary for cse was about 15 lpa, which is very good keeping in mind that this college is not even 10 years old. major companies were DirectI,qualcomm, adobe,IBM,myntra, etc
Course Curriculum Overview :
Ours is a research based institution, so a lot of projects keep coming. Lots of programming assignments, focus is more on application
Ques. Do you think IIIT Delhi should be preferred over the top 3 NITs (Trichy, Warangal and surathkal) by a South Indian when there is passion for coding?
● Top Answer By Zakia Parween on 03 Sept 21
Ans.Yes, you can go for IIIT Delhi without any second thought. The institute has come a long way and it has improved its reputation. It can easily compete with some of the most sought-after institutes.
Placements: In its latest placement season, more than 140 companies have visited the campus and made a total of 585 offers to its students. The highest domestic package was INR 50 LPA and the international offer was INR 37.50 LPA. The average package offered was INR 16.14 LPA.
Faculty: It can obviously be said with certainty that the faculty of IIIT Delhi is enviable and can stand toe to toe with the institutes mentioned in the question.
Coding Culture: IIITD has dedicated clubs with great coding culture for students. Previously, 15 students got selected for Google Summer of Code.
Hostels: The hostel rooms at this institute are much better than any government college. Proper air-conditioning is provided at nights during summers and heaters during winters.
Location: IIITD enjoys the locational advantage of being situated in the capital city. You will be given great exposure and opportunities. NITs, on the other hand, are located far away from the cities and you may face travel problems.
Some of the disadvantages that you may encounter at IIITD are the reputation and campus life that NITs carries. They are more reputable than IIITD and have a great campus life.Read more
Ans.Taking admission to either of the colleges will be worth it. NIT Trichy is an old institute whereas IIIT D was established recently. Taking all the factors into accounts such as faculty, environment, exposure, and placement, you must opt for IIITD. In a short span of time, it has done great work overall.
Now comparing it factor wise:
Faculty members at IIITD are much better than any NIT in our country. Most of them are Ph.D. holders from universities like Illinois, Carnegie Mellon, etc.
The coding environment is enormous in IIITD and there is no match for NIT Trichy. If you really want to learn you should opt for IIITD.
Being in Delhi, the country’s capital offers great internships with the best exposure. Companies of not only software sector but other sectors company also come to give intern in various field in IIITD as well.
IIITD has grown tremendously in the last 5 years in terms of job opportunities. During the recent placement drive in 2021, the institute received the highest package of 39 LPA.
I do think that it will surpass NIT Trichy in upcoming years for sure. If it comes to tag then I would say either will be great.Read more
Ques. What should I choose between IIIT Delhi (Indraprastha), LNMIIT Jaipur & Thapar University Patiala?
● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 25 Aug 21
Ans.IIIT Delhi is clearly the best choice out of the three options especially if we are talking about CSE. Your preference order should be the following.
IIIT Delhi (Indraprastha) > Thapar University > LNMIIT Jaipur
Cutoff: (IIIT D > Thapar University)
The quality of the students also has an effect on how the college performs and also in its rankings. The cutoff for CSE at IIIT Delhi is around 200-225+. Thapar University admits students with JEE Mains marks more than 170 for students’ outside Punjab and 150 marks for students from Punjab. The cutoff indicates IIIT D offers a better peer group.
In terms of placements and internships, IIIT Delhi tops the list. The avg. package for the CSE branch in IIIT Delhi is around 15 lakhs per annum.
Overall avg package in Thapar University is around 8 lakhs per annum and for CSE Branch is around 10 lakhs per annum with a placement rate of 94 percent.
In LNMIIT Jaipur the avg packages are around 6 lakhs per annum.
Thpar has a great coding culture. However, based on student crowd, placements, etc. the best option among the given choices is IIITD.Read more
Ques. Which is the best option: CSE at IIIT Delhi, dual (economics) at BITS Goa/Hyderabad, or information technology at NIT Suratkal?
● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 23 Aug 21
Ans.The answer to this question depends on how you can cope with zealous competition after joining college. If you are confident that you can join the brawl and top in your first year, I would highly recommend taking MSc in Economics at BITS Goa Pilani.
BITS Pilani has been ranked among top 30 institutes in NIRF Ranking 2020.
In your 2nd year, you can choose a B.E. course according to your first year CGPA, including the highly coveted CSE program.
You'll have to spend one more year as compared to your B.E. colleagues.
Getting your desired course can be a real disadvantage, seeing that there is no dearth of distractions on campus.
If you do not want to take a risk, choosing IT at NIT Surathkal is the best option for you. Since the syllabus almost corresponds to that of CSE and the infrastructure is mind-blowing at the campus.Read more
Ques. Which is the better choice for CSE, BITS Goa or IIITD?
● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 02 Aug 21
Ans.Both the campuses BITS Goa and IIIT Delhi are of equal importance, it depends upon where you live. The academic curriculum, faculty, different clubs, internships, coding culture, and whatnot are some of the opportunities provided in both colleges. There is no problem in finding internships during the BTech program as the college provides the same.
BITS Goa has more activities than IIIT Delhi. It will help you expose to many different things and enjoy your life and studies as well. So I can say that it is your personal choice to opt for the particular campus after thinking about your desires.
Thus, we can conclude that identify your preference keeping in mind the various pros and cons of the college, along with the desires of your college life, then only opt for the particular campus, BITS Goa or IIT Delhi.Read more
